- Professional Development: Stay updated on new massage trends, participate in continuing education, and maintain necessary licenses.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Completion of a massage therapy program (typically 500 hours or more).
- Licensure: Adherence to all applicable state and local licensing laws and regulations.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in various massage techniques, such as Swedish, deep tissue, sports, and prenatal massage.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to build rapport and listen to client needs.
- Physical Attributes: Good manual dexterity, stamina, and the ability to stand for extended periods.
- Professional Qualities: Empathy, compassion, a professional appearance, and a reliable attendance.
