Salary/Benefits: $17.00 - $20.90 based on experience; benefit package available
Available: April 27, 2026; Full-time; School Year Position
FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Job Summary:
The Paraprofessional will work with individual students or groups to assist them in achieving their goals
academically, physically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally. They will assist the teacher in preparing and
planning for instruction in and outside of the classroom environment. The Paraprofessional must handle all duties
in a professional and responsible manner and have the ability to handle multiple tasks, multiple priorities and
various paperwork activities. Experience with data collection and computer use is important. Must effectively
communicate via oral and written communication with children, families, and other staff. Effective Problem Solving
skills are imperative. The right candidate will have a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Professional
development activities are provided.
Qualifications:
a. High School Diploma or equivalent.
b. Experience working with children and young adults with disabilities, preferred.
c. Medical training or certification, preferred.
Essential Duties:
● Assist with the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) under the supervision of certified
staff.
● Support academic instruction by reinforcing teacher-delivered lessons, adapting materials, and providing
one-on-one or small-group assistance.
● Facilitate the use of assistive technology or alternative communication methods as directed.
● Implement behavior support plans consistently, using approved positive behavior strategies and
documentation protocols.
● Assist in the de-escalation of student behaviors and maintain a safe environment for all students and staff.
● Monitor and report changes in student behavior or emotional state to the appropriate staff.
● Provide personal care support, including assistance with feeding, toileting, diapering, dressing, mobility, and
hygiene needs, as required.
● Assist students with physical transfers, including lifting, repositioning, and use of adaptive equipment.

Essential Duties Continued
● Maintain the dignity and privacy of students during all personal care routines.
● Prepare, organize, and clean learning materials and equipment for instructional use.
● Support the maintenance of a structured, safe, and clean classroom environment.
● Escort students between locations within the school and during community-based instruction.
● Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure consistent implementation of
student plans.
● Attend staff meetings, professional development, and training required by the ISD.
● Maintain confidentiality of student records and information in accordance with FERPA and district policy.
● Collect data on student progress toward IEP goals as directed.
● Complete required documentation related to behavior tracking, incident reports, and personal care logs.
● Communicate effectively with staff regarding student needs, concerns, and observations.
● Regular and predictable in-person attendance is an essential job function.
● Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, see,
and hear. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach with hands and
arms. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move 60 pounds or more, be able to push/pull
wheelchairs up to 150 lbs. The employee may have to engage in the physical management of students
in order to maintain a safe environment. Employee may, upon request, have to travel to different work
locations. Noise levels are typically moderate.
