About the role

Guidewire Build Engineer (Mid-Level)
📍 Westshore District, Tampa, FL

Join our team in the heart of Tampa’s vibrant Westshore District, where innovation meets collaboration. We’re looking for a skilled Guidewire Build Engineer to help drive the reliability, speed, and quality of our software delivery processes. If you’re passionate about CI/CD, automation, and building scalable systems in an Agile environment, this is your opportunity to make an impact.

About the Role

As a Guidewire Build Engineer, you’ll be responsible for building, packaging, automating, and deploying Guidewire applications (such as PolicyCenter) across all environments—from development through production. You’ll play a key role in ensuring dependable CI/CD pipelines, repeatable deployments, and strong SDLC governance, while partnering closely with engineering, QA, and release management teams.

What You’ll Do

  • Own and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines for Guidewire applications, including automated builds, testing, packaging, and deployments
  • Develop and maintain build and deployment automation (scripts, pipelines, and runbooks) to reduce manual effort and increase reliability
  • Coordinate releases, including versioning, branching strategies, artifact management, environment readiness, and deployment validation
  • Support SDLC best practices such as quality gates, dependency management, and standardized promotion across environments
  • Troubleshoot build and deployment issues, identify root causes, and implement long-term solutions
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure seamless integration into build workflows and adherence to branching strategies
  • Maintain clear documentation and contribute to ongoing process improvements
  • Partner with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to meet delivery timelines

What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

  • 3–6 years of experience in build engineering, release engineering, DevOps, or CI/CD-focused roles
  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile delivery methodologies
  • Hands-on experience with source control systems (e.g., Git, Bitbucket) and branching/merging workflows
  • Experience with CI/CD tools, automated deployments, and artifact repositories
  • Familiarity with tools like Jira and Confluence for tracking and coordination
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to document and communicate solutions clearly
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Guidewire or other large-scale Java-based enterprise platforms
  • Familiarity with automated testing integration and build quality gates
  • Experience with deployment automation and environment configuration management
  • Insurance industry experience (Property & Casualty preferred)
  • Guidewire Associate certification

What Success Looks Like (First 60–90 Days)

  • CI/CD pipelines are stable, efficient, and increasingly automated
  • Deployment processes are consistent, reliable, and well-documented
  • Release coordination is smooth and transparent across teams
