Duties & Responisibilites:
• Assist with the preparation and filing of non-profit tax returns, including IRS Form 990 and related schedules
• Support the entity creation process for the sports school's non-profit organization, including research and documentation
• Compile and organize financial records, supporting schedules, and documentation required for tax filings
• Coordinate with the CFO to gather necessary financial data and ensure accurate reporting
• Conduct research on non-profit tax regulations, exemption requirements, and compliance standards
• Assist in preparing applications for tax-exempt status (e.g., IRS Form 1023 or 1023-EZ) as applicable
• Review and reconcile financial data to support accurate and complete filings
• Maintain organized records of all filing-related documents and correspondence
• Provide general administrative and analytical support to the CFO as needed throughout the engagement
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field (recent graduates encouraged to apply).
Required:
- Basic understanding of tax principles, IRS filings, and financial reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Preferred:
- Coursework or internship experience in non-profit accounting or tax
- Familiarity with IRS Form 990 and non-profit compliance requirements
- Knowledge of state entity formation processes and non-profit registration
- Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
Engagement Details:
- Duration: Approximately 30–45 days (contract/temporary)
- Schedule: Full-time or part-time hours negotiable based on project needs
- Location: On-site and/or remote (to be determined)
- Compensation: Competitive hourly rate commensurate with qualifications
Type of fingerprint clearance: Shall be fingerprint checked pursuant to A.R.S 15-512
Physical functions: Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and operate a computer and other office equipment. Must reach with hands and arms and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Equipment used: Frequent computer use is expected.
Work environment: Standard office environment.
