Description
The Assistant Project Manager supports the construction team of Director of Preconstruction, Project Manager, Superintendent, and Designers. They will organize the construction project from start to finish. This role works closely with vendors and subcontractors to make sure the construction project proceeds safely, accurately, smoothly while on-time and on-budget.
Safety
· Be an advocate for Henning’s safety culture, always doing the right thing, and promote safety of those around you
· Inspect all work to ensure compliance with plans and specifications
· Always model Henning’s safety culture both in office and on the job site by using personal protective equipment and following safety regulations, encouraging those around you to do the same
· Monitor safety by participating in Job Safety meetings, walks, and other related tasks like ongoing training
· Complete OSHA trainings as directed by Safety Director
Building Relationships
· Be committed to developing lasting relationships, both internally and externally; maintaining respect and professionalism at all times
· Build internal relationships to foster open, honest and trustworthy communication across all departments
· Arrange all preliminary, ongoing, and final construction schedules along with pre-construction meetings with internal and external parties
· Act as project liaison between all office/field personnel to ensure continuity of work

· Prepare, review, monitor logs for tracking submittals, RFIs, contract documents, change orders, and applications for payment
· Initiate, lead, document, and share project communications including meeting notes, agendas, and drawing markups through Procore® and/or other available avenues, collaborating with Project Coordinator
· Plan and supervise on/offsite construction management activities for projects
· Coordinate with office/field regarding progress photos and documents needed to support construction progress meetings and reports
· Report construction progress, cost, and schedule status with team through weekly meetings
· Assess construction drawings and ensure compliance with design intent while monitoring all phases of construction and performing quality control
· Review engineered drawings to ensure all specifications and regulations are being followed
· Collaborate with Project Coordinator to build and maintain an organized file system including contract documents, drawings and specifications, meeting minutes, bids, pricing, requests for information, change orders, and any other project documentation in Procore or other appropriate systems
· Provide basic support for all other departments as needed, along with other assigned duties.
Drive Innovation
· Requires continuous improvement mindset; lead & participate in continuous improvement of processes to eliminate waste and improve customer experience.
· Integrate new or existing technology to provide best in class project solutions. This includes estimating (Sage®) and project management software (Procore®) and web-based collaboration tools.
· Assist with job closeout procedures including development of as-built drawings, operations manuals, warranties, guarantees, service visits, punch list, and final acceptance to provide timely job turnover to client
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in construction engineering, Construction Management or related Engineering degree equivalent preferred
· 3+ years of relatable experience preferred
· Valid driver’s license required
· Exceptional communication and effective listening skills
· Ability to read people and adapt your approach to achieve results
· Effective contributor and team player, which can plan and organize a team with the capacity to motivate and boost morale
· Proficient in Sage, Procore, Microsoft Office, and other construction related software
· Understanding of productivity and pricing
· Ability to travel to project locations, including overnight travel
Work Environment
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee will exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently in an office environment, and 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally when working in field environment
· Occasional activities of office environment include balancing, bending/stooping, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion
· Frequent activities of office environment include sitting, standing, walking, typing and other computer work, using telephone and other standard office equipment
