About this Position
The Assistant Manager – Production is responsible for managing and
supporting Cold Applied Tape manufacturing operations at the SFL Baroda
manufacturing facility. The role focuses on Multiple Extrusion Unit (MEU) operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production of corrosion
protection solutions used for critical pipeline and infrastructure projects.
Job Location: Baroda, Gujarat (Manjusar-GIDC)
What you´ll do
- Oversee
and execute Cold Applied Tape production using Multiple
Extrusion Units (MEU).
- Hands-on
operation and process control of extrusion technology for Tape
production & Sheet
extrusion (wherever applicable)
- Support
production of multiple product lines including Cold
applied tapes, Heat
shrink sleeves, Epoxy-based
industrial protective coatings (process exposure preferred)
- Ensure
achievement of daily production targets with optimal resource utilization
- Demonstrate
flexibility to work extended hours or shifts based on operational
requirements.
- Strong
process knowledge of extruders, including understanding of Product
types manufactured through extrusion
& Material behavior and process parameters - Identify
process deviations, troubleshoot issues, and support continuous
improvement initiatives.
- Exposure
to Norton or similar extrusion/tape technologies will be an added
advantage
- Ensure
adherence to quality parameters and specifications relevant to
corrosion protection and mechanical protection products.
- Monitor
critical quality characteristics such as consistency, adhesion, thickness, and
performance requirements
- Support
quality audits, corrective actions, and documentation as per plant standards
- Strict
adherence to EHS norms as a basic requirement for manufacturing
operations.
- Promote
safe working practices on the shop floor and ensure compliance with
statutory and internal EHS guidelines.
- Actively
participate in safety initiatives and incident prevention programs.
- Accurate
and timely production reporting in SAP / plant systems.
- Maintain
production records, batch documentation, and operational logs as required.
- Support
data accuracy for audits, reviews, and performance monitoring.
What makes you a good fit
- Diploma
/ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Polymer, Production
Engineering, or related fields.
- Minimum
5 years of experience (indicative) in extrusion-based manufacturing.
- Mandatory
experience in Cold Applied Tape operations
- Experience
in MEU (Multiple Extrusion Unit) operations producing tapes is
highly preferred.
- Technical Skills
Strong
extrusion and tape manufacturing know-how.
Process
knowledge of extruder operations and product-specific parameters.
Understanding
of quality requirements for industrial corrosion protection products.
Working knowledge of SAP or manufacturing
systems for reporting - Behavioral & Functional
