About the role

  • Serve as a visible and active presence within the assigned residential community; learn residents’ names, room numbers, and engage in intentional interactions.
  • Interpret, explain, enforce, and abide by all University and Housing & Community Standards policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate community standards conversations and serve as a mandatory reporter for incidents or concerns.
  • Complete weekly and monthly responsibilities, including:
    • On-call duty rotations
    • Desk duty (four hours per week)
    • Staff meetings and in-services
    • Administrative tasks and documentation
    • Incident response and reporting
    • Programming and educational initiatives
    • Monthly bulletin boards and tagalong events
  • Plan and implement purposeful programming aligned with learning outcomes and community needs.
  • Conduct health, safety, and ESA inspections as assigned.
  • Support and attend campus-wide and Housing-sponsored events.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive materials and information in accordance with FERPA and departmental expectations.
  • Participate in residence hall surveys, assessments, and research projects as requested.
  • Attend and successfully complete all required training sessions and openings/closings.
  • Uphold all responsibilities outlined in the official RA job description and job agreement.
