About the role
As a Senior Front-End Engineer at Help Scout, you'll play a critical role in building the frontend architecture and lead the execution of major frontend initiatives. You'll partner closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver exceptional user experiences. Your work will impact thousands of businesses and their customers every day.
Our frontend stack includes React, TypeScript, webpack, and Apollo GraphQL. We value well-architected, maintainable, and performant code - you should too. You'll help lead the evolution of our frontend technology, establishing best practices, tooling, and engineering processes.
We're looking for a seasoned frontend engineer who has a deep understanding of modern web development, a track record of delivering high-quality features, and a passion for creating delightful user experiences. You should have significant experience with React, TypeScript, state management, and building complex web applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the frontend roadmap and architecture for key product areas
- Collaborate with designers and product managers to translate requirements into user-friendly, high-quality experiences
- Mentor and level up junior engineers on the frontend team
- Contribute to engineering best practices, tooling, and processes
- Stay up-to-date on the latest frontend technologies and trends
Required Experience:
- 5+ years of professional experience as a frontend engineer
- Significant experience with React, TypeScript, and modern frontend tooling
- Strong understanding of web performance, accessibility, and responsive design
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Passion for building delightful user experiences
