Experience in the IT Industry will be preferred. CA / CPA equivalent with strong skills in Oracle / OpenAir / Oracle Projects / MicroStrategy. The person would be responsible for India Taxation and Statutory Compliance, including Direct Tax, GST, TDS, Transfer Pricing, tax audits, statutory audits, provisions, assessments, and related India controllership activities.
Here’s How You Will Contribute to BMC’s and Your Own Success:
- Manage taxation, statutory compliance, and controllership activities for India entities, including General Ledger, AP, AR, accruals, provisions, treasury support, and month-end close activities.
- Own Direct Tax compliance including advance tax computations, quarterly tax liabilities, TDS compliance, TDS returns, withholding tax, corporate income tax provisions, deferred tax computations, annual income tax return support, tax assessments, notices, scrutiny, appeals, and maintenance of tax documentation.
- Manage Indirect Tax / GST compliance including monthly GST returns, GST reconciliations, Input Tax Credit eligibility, GST credit utilization, vendor GST compliance, GST mismatches, GST audits, departmental notices, annual GST return, reconciliation statements, and GST implications on contracts, invoices, and new business transactions.
- Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance under the Companies Act, Income-tax Act, GST laws, FEMA where applicable, and other India regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate statutory audits, tax audits, internal audits, and closure of audit requirements by working closely with internal teams, external auditors, consultants, and legal advisors.
- Manage Transfer Pricing compliance including annual TP documentation, related party transaction monitoring, inter-company agreements, consultant coordination, TP reports, APA, Safe Harbour, and transfer pricing audits.
- Own accounting responsibilities including preparation and posting of journal entries in Oracle, preparation and review of reports, account reconciliations, balance certification, open item resolution, PO approvals, spend review, P&L activities, and accrual management.
- Prepare and review lease accounting as per Ind AS 116 and ASC 842, and support financial statement preparation with hands-on exposure to Ind AS standards.
- Partner with AP, AR, finance, non-finance teams, domestic and international stakeholders, and all levels of the organization to ensure smooth controllership and compliance operations.
- Allocate work within the team, review day-to-day activities, coach and develop accounting team members, assess risks, drive process improvements, and lead special projects.
To Ensure You’re Set Up for Success, You will bring the following skillset:
- CA / CPA equivalent preferred, with 8–10 years of industry experience, including 4–6 years of responsibility for India region / India books.
- Strong experience in financial accounting, accounting principles, controllership, India compliance, and accounting practices.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle is required. Experience with OpenAir is preferred; Oracle Projects experience will also be considered.
- Strong Excel skills and working knowledge of Access database preferred.
- Previous experience managing staff functionally, including work allocation, review, coaching, and team development.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize effectively, and manage short deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Ability to build strong working relationships and collaborate with finance, non-finance, and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interface with internal teams, stakeholders, auditors, and management.
- Big 4 accounting experience will be an added advantage.
- Regular shift: 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

At HELIX we believe in pay transparency and have set the midpoint of the salary band for this role at 2,841,000 INR. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
The salary listed is just one component of HELIX's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.
