About the role

Relief Van Driver / Direct Support Professional
 

We’re seeking a Relief Van Driver who will provide non-medical transportation for individuals with developmental disabilities and assist with direct care duties when not driving. This flexible, hands-on role supports both safe transportation and daily care needs.

Pay: $19.75-$20.75

Hours: Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm; hours may vary based on resident’s appointment needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport residents using company vehicles (vans, wheelchair vans, shuttles)
  • Operate wheelchair lifts and secure mobility devices properly
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and complete documentation
  • Assist residents with daily living needs, personal care, and community outings
  • Provide support that respects and promotes individual rights and safety
  • Respond appropriately in emergencies and follow safety procedures

Requirements:

  • Must be 21 or older
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License (max 5 points) and clean driving record
  • At least 3 years of driving experience
  • Able to provide a driver’s abstract
  • Must pass a BCI/FBI background check and not be on any abuse registries
  • Strong attendance record
  • Must complete:
  • Driving test with Director of Facilities and Safety
  • Wheelchair securement training
  • CPR & First Aid certification

***Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
