Scope:
The Sr. Driver Specialist will be responsible for transporting both raw materials and finished goods between Heartland facilities, vendor and customer locations.
Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of local major and minor roadways
- Proficient in operating a variety of types of Trucks and Industrialized Trucks
- Ability to effectively use maps and directions for efficient routing
- Ability to handle multiple tasks while navigating competing priorities
- Must work well in a team environment and have strong communication skills
- Ability to interact with individuals at all organizational levels; conducts self in polite and professional manner
- Demonstrates a motivation to provide fast, accurate and complete customer service at all times to all internal and external customers
- Ability to apply organizational skills when given a task with the ability to manage and prioritize time
- Uses resources effectively to generate solutions; takes initiative when resolving problems
- Must possess critical thinking skills as well as thrive in an autonomous environment
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class A CDL Driver’s License with clean MVR and Driver CSA Score(s)
- Complete and current DOT Physical
- Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier safety regulations and DOT guidelines
- Must have all Endorsements or the ability to obtain them within 3 months of hire
- Minimum 5 years of verifiable driving experience with a Tractor Trailer preferred, of which one year must be current
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and exhibit attention to detail
- Must have the ability to work extended hours
- Ability to effectively use maps and directions for efficient routing
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to physically perform the functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
- Must be able to work extended hours, such as daily overtime and an occasional weekend
- Must possess visual acuity to document company records
- Lifting up to 50 pounds
