Description
The Echocardiogram Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures to assist providers in the evaluation and diagnosis of cardiovascular conditions. Performs non-invasive cardiac ultrasound procedures to assist providers in diagnosing and managing cardiovascular conditions. This role requires technical expertise, patient-centered care, and adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards. The Echocardiogram Technician works closely with physicians and clinical staff to ensure high-quality imaging and accurate results. Key Responsibilities: Perform transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) in accordance with established protocol. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining exams and ensuring comfort and safety
- Obtain accurate cardiac images, measurements, and Doppler studies
- Recognize abnormal cardiac anatomy and function and communicate findings appropriately
- Ensure proper operation, calibration, and basic maintenance of echocardiography equipment
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and HIPAA guidelines
- Assist cardiologists and other providers with diagnostic evaluations as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and clinical staff to support coordinated patient care.
- Maintain professional certification and comply with continuing education requirements
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
- Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.
- State licensure (if applicable in [Insert State]).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience in interventional radiology, vascular procedures, or an outpatient surgical setting.
