About the role

The M&E intern will support the MEL and program teams in maintaining project monitoring systems, data collection, analysis, reporting, and knowledge management ensuring high-quality, timely, and impactful project implementation. Key Responsibilities 1. Project Data Collection & Information Management Assist with collection, verification, and compilation of project data from the field (output and outcome levels) as per the M&E plan Support updates to project databases and ensure accurate, organized data entry Maintain project files, both hard and soft copies, according to organizational SOPs 2. Quality Assurance & Reporting Support review and consolidation of field reports, baseline studies, and partner or consultant reports for completeness and quality Assist in preparing periodic (monthly, quarterly, annual) M&E reports and presentations to communicate project progress Help track and follow-up on project indicators, flagging gaps or inconsistencies for supervisor attention 3. Learning, Documentation & Knowledge Sharing Compile and document success stories, lessons learned, and best practices from project implementation Assist in the documentation and dissemination of M&E insights within project teams and, where needed, with partners 4. Support Evaluations & Special Studies Support implementation of surveys, reviews, and data collection tools during project evaluations, site visits, or special studies Contribute to the development and piloting of data collection methodologies as assigned 5. Administrative & Team Support Prepare agendas, minutes, and basic correspondence for M&E-related meetings Assist with scheduling, logistics, and coordination for MEL activities including internal learning events or after-action reviews Perform other M&E-related tasks as assigned by the MEL or Project Manager Support in general administration activities Learning & Development Opportunities Exposure to professional M&E practices, databases, and knowledge management systems Training in standard M&E frameworks, logical frameworks, indicators, and qualitative/quantitative tools Participation in knowledge-sharing, organizational learning, and communications Mentorship from MEL professionals and experienced program staff Requirements Essential Qualifications Undergraduate student in relevant field (Public Health, Social Sciences, Statistics, Project Management, or similar) Demonstrated interest in M&E, health programs, or community development Key Skills & Competencies Basic understanding of data management and analysis (quantitative and/or qualitative) Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail Good written and verbal communication abilities Quick learner, organized, proactive, and able to work collegially in diverse teams Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently Strong desire to learn and contribute to meaningful projects Key Performance Indicators Quality and timeliness of data collection and reporting Ability to meet deadlines and follow SOPs Contribution to documentation and learning activities
