About the role

Key Responsibilities of a Patient Relations Associate: Patient Engagement: Greeting patients and visitors, providing directions, and ensuring a comfortable and welcoming environment. Communication: Facilitating communication between patients, families, and healthcare staff, addressing concerns and inquiries. Complaint Handling: Receiving and managing patient complaints and grievances, escalating issues when necessary. Administrative Tasks: Maintaining records, managing paperwork, and coordinating patient referrals. Advocacy: Acting as a bridge between patients and the healthcare facility, ensuring patient rights and needs are addressed. Quality Improvement: Collecting patient feedback and conducting surveys to assess and improve hospital services. Training and Education: Providing patients and families with information about hospital policies, procedures, and resources. Crisis Management: Assisting in crisis situations, such as medical emergencies, and ensuring patient safety. Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of patient interactions, complaints, and follow-up actions. Ethical Practice: Instilling professional conduct and ethical standards in healthcare practice. Skills and Qualities: Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including active listening and empathy. Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build rapport with patients and staff, create a positive atmosphere, and resolve conflicts. Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and address patient concerns, find solutions, and escalate issues appropriately. Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain accurate records. Patience and Compassion: Ability to remain calm and understanding in stressful situations and provide support to patients and families. Knowledge: Understanding of hospital policies, procedures, and patient rights. Computer Skills: Proficiency in using computer systems for patient registration, billing, and record keeping.
