Job Description: Healthcare Innovation Officer (Equity-Based) – HiWox Role Overview
We are looking for a
Healthcare Innovation Officer who will lead the
innovation, IP creation, and product development pipeline at HiWox. This is a
high-impact, core role focused on identifying gaps in healthcare, building breakthrough solutions, and converting them into
protectable, scalable innovations (patents, IP, and market-ready products).
This is not a research-only role — you will be responsible for taking ideas from
concept → innovation → IP → real-world deployment.
Equity Structure (Important)
- This is a pure equity-based role (no fixed compensation initially)
- 3–4 rounds of discussions → 1-month NDA-based working cohort → Core team/cofounder agreement
- Equity finalized post funding & Pvt. Ltd. registration
- 5-year vesting structure
- Fixed compensation begins post funding
- You will be part of a core 25+ member equity team being built
Key Responsibilities
- Innovation Strategy & Problem Identification (Core Focus)
- Identify high-impact gaps in healthcare and wellness (beyond conventional areas)
- Define innovation pipelines aligned with HiWox’s long-term vision
- Focus on building non-obvious, high-value solutions with strong differentiation
- Patent & IP Development
- Lead the creation of patentable innovations and intellectual property
- Work on prior art research, patent drafting inputs, and filing strategy
- Ensure innovations are defensible, scalable, and commercially viable
- Build a structured IP portfolio for HiWox
- Productization of Innovations
- Convert concepts into prototypes, pilot solutions, and deployable products
- Work closely with tech, research, and operations teams to bring innovations to market
- Ensure a balance between innovation depth and real-world usability
- Research & Ecosystem Collaboration
- Collaborate with research institutions, healthcare professionals, and domain experts
- Stay updated with global trends, emerging technologies, and research breakthroughs
- Identify opportunities for joint innovation, licensing, or partnerships
- Incubation & Experimentation
- Lead multiple innovation experiments and pilot programs simultaneously
- Validate ideas quickly through real-world testing and feedback loops
- Build frameworks for continuous innovation within HiWox
- Strategic & Founder’s Office Collaboration
- Work directly with the founder on long-term innovation roadmap and positioning
- Align innovation with business models, scalability, and market entry strategies
- Contribute to positioning HiWox as an innovation-led healthcare company
Who Should Apply
- 5+ years of experience in innovation, R&D, patents, or product development
- Proven experience in creating or contributing to patents/IP
- Strong understanding of healthcare, wellness, or deep-tech innovation ecosystems
- Ability to move from research to execution and commercialization
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (tech, research, operations)
- Prior exposure to startups or innovation labs is a strong advantage
