Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 333-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus including at a network of Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

Fathers and Families Center (FFC) is an independent not-for-profit organization affiliated with Eskenazi Health. Our mission is to build a noble legacy of fatherhood by supporting fathers in achieving self-sufficiency and strengthening families to improve the life chances of children. Through evidence-informed programs and community partnerships, FFC helps participants become better partners, providers, and parents.

Position Summary

The Vice President of Administration is a key member of the senior leadership team, providing strategic and operational leadership across the organization’s administrative functions. This executive role oversees finance, facilities and infrastructure, information technology, marketing and communications, fund development, grant management, and research and evaluation.

Reporting to the President & CEO, the Vice President of Administration plays a critical role in shaping organizational strategy, ensuring operational excellence, and advancing FFC’s mission through strong leadership, sound governance, and diversified resources. The role represents Fathers and Families Center at the local, regional, and national levels with key partners and stakeholders.

The position is anchored in three core areas: Leadership and Management, Operations, and Resource Development.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Management

Provide executive leadership, direction, and oversight of the Administration team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
Partner with the President & CEO and senior leadership team to develop and implement the organization’s strategic plan and annual work plans, ensuring regulatory and legal compliance.
Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial planning, in collaboration with leadership, for review and approval by the President & CEO.
Establish effective systems, policies, and processes that support operational excellence, consistent communication, and organizational scalability.
Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain high-performing staff; promote professional growth through coaching, training, and clear performance expectations.
Set performance goals, assign accountabilities, evaluate outcomes, and conduct annual performance appraisals to support continuous improvement.

Operations

Direct administrative and operational functions, including financial management, facilities and infrastructure, IT systems, and safeguarding of organizational assets.
Oversee security, risk management, and emergency preparedness planning to ensure continuity of operations.
Collaborate with the Vice President of Programs and Partnerships to ensure effective systems for reporting, compliance, and billing.
Lead preparation and review of annual financial statements and audits; ensure accuracy, transparency, and appropriate financial disclosures.
Oversee legal and contractual matters, including insurance coverage, leases, contracts, and alignment of policies with Eskenazi Health.
Ensure organization-wide compliance with policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and reporting obligations.
Design and execute an integrated strategic communications plan that strengthens FFC’s brand, increases visibility, and engages key stakeholders.
Oversee development of print and digital communications, including the annual report, marketing materials, website, and social media; manage vendor relationships.

Resource Development

Partner with senior leadership to develop and implement a long-term financial and sustainability strategy.
Lead a comprehensive and diversified fundraising program, including individual giving, corporate and foundation support, and government grants and contracts.
Oversee grant strategy, proposal development, submission, reporting, and compliance; ensure strong long-term relationship management.
Monitor funding trends and emerging opportunities to proactively position FFC for future growth.
Ensure accurate tracking, analysis, and reporting of donor and development data to inform leadership decision-making.
Develop and implement robust donor stewardship strategies to cultivate new supporters and deepen existing relationships.
Provide leadership for major fundraising initiatives and special events.
Oversee research and evaluation efforts that support continuous improvement and position FFC as a thought leader in responsible fatherhood.

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s degree and possess at least seven (7) years of demonstrated success in nonprofit management, including a minimum of five (5) years in a supervisory or executive leadership capacity. Alternatively, candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and ten (10) or more years of progressive management and supervisory experience within a nonprofit or comparable organizational setting will also be considered. The role requires a valid Indiana driver’s license.
