Operating under the brand “Cairn", the company holds interests in 44 blocks spanning over 47,000 sq km of acreage across India, with gross 2P (proved plus probable) and 2C (contingent) resources of 1.4 bnboe. Its producing assets span key hydrocarbon basins in Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, and Assam, supported by technology-led exploration, advanced subsurface expertise, and world-class engineering capabilities.
With a diverse portfolio of conventional and unconventional resources and a strong pipeline of upcoming growth projects, Vedanta Oil & Gas aims to significantly expand domestic production towards India’s energy security and economic growth. The company is committed to achieving Net Zero, advancing responsible energy development while creating sustainable value for the nation, communities, and shareholders. In this context, we are looking forward to hire a dynamic leader for the role of Head WRFM - Aishwarya.
The incumbent will be responsible to maximize hydrocarbon production from the asset through continuous well surveillance, short-term production optimization, and efficient well & network management. The role aims to minimize production deferment, enhance recovery efficiency, and ensure alignment with corporate production targets through data-driven insights and timely operational interventions.
Key Responsibilities
Planning
- Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production optimization plans aligned with asset targets
- Plan well testing schedules and finalize production rate allocation for individual wells
- Prepare monthly oil production forecasts and variance analysis vs Business Plan (BP)
- Identify production improvement opportunities and maintain an updated opportunity register with quantified gains
- Plan well interventions and prioritize activities based on production impact and resource availability
- Support planning of well conversions (producer ↔ injector)
Work-site Activity
- Monitor a minimum of 850 wells daily, tracking critical production and injection parameters
- Ensure effective injection management to maintain Voidage Replacement Ratio (VRR ≈ 1)
- Monitor polymer injection systems, including viscosity control and dilution optimization
- Diagnose underperforming and non-flowing wells and implement troubleshooting plans
- Conduct daily oil loss accounting (surface & well-related) and reduce deferment
- Monitor key process parameters (flowline pressure, injection network pressure, production network pressure)
- Identify bottlenecks in surface and subsurface systems and implement corrective actions
- Track well performance before and after interventions to evaluate effectiveness
- Maintain records and action plans for non-performing wells
- Ensure regular updates of dashboards (production, BS&W, sand analysis, friction factor, etc.)
Performance Measurement and Review
- Achievement of production targets vs plan and Business Plan (BP)
- Reduction in production deferment and unplanned losses
- Improvement in well productivity and recovery efficiency
- Closure rate of identified opportunities and backlog reduction
- Accuracy of production forecasting and variance reporting
- Effectiveness of well interventions (pre- vs post-performance improvement)
