🚀 We're Hiring: Head, Silicon & Photonic Integrated Circuits CoE

QNu Labs is India's pioneering quantum-security company — building quantum key distribution, quantum random number generation, post-quantum cryptography and quantum sensing into products that protect data against the quantum threat. We are scaling our senior technical leadership and looking for exceptional people to lead our Centres of Excellence and strategic programmes.
🎯 THE MISSION
Lead our move from discrete optics and FPGAs toward integrated photonics and custom silicon — shrinking QKD/QRNG transmit-receive functions and cryptographic accelerators into chip-scale, manufacturable, low-power modules. You drive the leap from boards to chips.
🔧 CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
▪ Define the photonic-IC and ASIC roadmap for quantum photonic front-ends and post-quantum cryptographic accelerators
▪ Own integrated-photonics design — on-chip modulators, interferometers and couplers, and coupling to detectors
▪ Lead the silicon side — cryptographic hardware accelerators, secure-boot and key-management IP, and side-channel-resistant implementations
▪ Manage PDKs, foundry/MPW tape-outs, packaging, fiber attach and co-packaged electronics
▪ Build the design team and drive the size, power, cost and yield trajectory needed for chip-scale products
💡 SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
We care more about depth, curiosity and leadership than a checklist — if you are strong in most of the below and excited by the rest, we want to hear from you.
▪ Integrated photonics OR silicon design: depth in one of — silicon-photonics / thin-film-lithium-niobate design, or RTL-to-GDSII ASIC design. We are open to either lead background and will build the other side of the team around you
▪ Photonics design: waveguides, interferometers, modulators and couplers, with design tools and PDKs — or strong general photonics ready to move on-chip
▪ ASIC / digital VLSI: low-power and mixed-signal design and foundry MPW/tape-out experience
▪ Cryptographic silicon (a plus): post-quantum accelerators, side-channel countermeasures and secure-boot IP — valuable, and supportable for a strong VLSI lead
▪ Packaging & DFM: fiber-to-chip attach, hybrid integration, PDK and tape-out discipline, and yield and reliability engineering
▪ Roadmap judgement: knowing what to integrate first for maximum size/power/cost benefit while preserving the security properties of the discrete design

▪ Project management: multi-workstream technical programs against government and commercial milestones; risk, dependency and schedule management; stage-gate / TRL-based delivery
▪ Product management: turning customer and stakeholder needs into requirements and roadmaps, balancing technical, cost and time-to-market trade-offs
▪ People leadership: hiring, mentoring and growing a high-calibre team; building a first-principles engineering culture
▪ Stakeholder engagement: engaging government, academic and industry partners, and representing QNu in technical reviews and tenders
▪ Communication: clear technical decks and documents for expert and non-expert audiences, confident presenting to evaluators, customers and leadership
▪ Funding & proposals: supporting grant, tender and funding submissions including technical write-ups and budget justification
