Job Description (Role):
The Head of Sales is a leadership position with full responsibility for revenue generation, P&L
accountability, and driving the company's growth. This individual will play an integral role in
developing new business, managing a small but dynamic team, and driving sales results. A core focus
of this role will be driving mutual fund distribution, significantly growing the network of sub-brokers,
and actively contributing to the sale of diverse asset classes. The ideal candidate will be highly
experienced in B2C sales, particularly within the BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance)
sector, with a deep understanding of financial investment products such as Mutual Funds, Insurance,
etc.
Strategic Sales Leadership: Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to hit revenue and
P&L targets, identifying new business opportunities and market trends.
Mutual Fund Distribution & Growth: Lead and expand mutual fund distribution channels, focusing
on increasing Assets Under Management (AUM) and staying updated on market trends.
Sub-Broker Network Development: Strategize and execute the growth and management of a strong
sub-broker network, including recruitment, training, and relationship building to maximize
productivity and ensure compliance.
Diversified Asset Class Sales: Facilitate the sale of other asset classes (e.g., insurance, bonds) by
training the sales team and sub-brokers, and identifying cross-selling opportunities.
Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of
excellence and continuous improvement.
Client Management & Analysis: Build strong client relationships, conduct market research, and
report on sales performance to inform strategic decisions.
Compliance: Ensure all sales activities and sub-broker operations adhere to regulatory guidelines
and internal policies.
Location Mumbai
Specific criteria required:
• Minimum 10 years of experience in sales (financial sector), with a proven track record of
driving revenue and achieving sales targets, particularly in the Mutual Fund industry.
• Experience handling B2B would be preferred
• Strong experience with financial investment products such as mutual funds,
wealth management, or other financial services.
• Candidates with experience in fintech or wealth management will be highly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or
other relevant advanced qualifications are a plus.
Skills & Competencies
• Deep understanding of the financial services industry, specifically investment products
and market trends.
• Proven ability to manage P&L, including budgeting and forecasting.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
