Head – Collections (VP - Unsecured & Microfinance)
Location: Kalina, Mumbai
Grade: VP
Reporting To: Chief Risk Officer (CRO)
About The Role
The organization is looking for an experienced leader to head collections for the unsecured lending portfolio with a strong emphasis on microfinance and unsecured business loans. The role will focus on driving collection efficiency, strengthening recovery frameworks, and managing delinquency across unsecured retail portfolios while building scalable collection processes and teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end collections strategy for unsecured loans and microfinance portfolios.
- Drive portfolio performance by reducing delinquencies, improving roll rates, and strengthening recovery outcomes.
- Develop and implement structured collection frameworks across early, bucket, and recovery stages.
- Monitor portfolio health, delinquency trends, bounce behavior, and NPA movement across unsecured products.
- Build and manage large multi-location collections teams including field collections.
- Strengthen field recovery mechanisms particularly for microfinance portfolios.
- Drive agency management, vendor performance monitoring, and recovery partnerships.
- Implement digital and technology-driven collection tools to enhance efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and fair collection practices.
- Work closely with Risk, Credit, Legal, and Business teams to improve portfolio quality and recovery outcomes.
Candidate Profile
- 17–20 years of experience in retail collections with strong exposure to unsecured lending.
- Deep experience in unsecured BL and microfinance collections.
- Strong understanding of field collections and recovery mechanisms in high-volume retail portfolios.
- Proven leadership experience managing large and geographically distributed teams.
- Strong analytical, operational, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements related to retail lending.
