NOW HIRING: HEAD OF PROJECT DELIVERY | MIST & INNOVERSE, BENGALURU
The Museum of Innovation, Startup & Technology (MIST) will be India's first museum dedicated exclusively to chronicling modern India's journey in innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship. Grounded in the present and oriented toward the future, the museum aims to capture the impact of transformations in India's technology landscape and spark curiosity and dialogue across generations.
Driven by the Karnataka Technology Innovation Museum Foundation (KTIMF), the project is built on a pioneering public-private partnership model between the Department of Electronics, Information Technology and Biotechnology (ITBT), Government of Karnataka, and UnboxingBLR.
MIST will be housed within one of the original switchgear factory sheds at the historic NGEF Campus, Baiyappanahalli, set within a 105-acre urban forest (65 acres of green cover). Through the adaptive reuse of the switchgear factory shed, its 10,061 sq. m.
footprint can be expanded to nearly 24,000 sq. m., with additional floors and double- height volumes. Of this, approximately 12,325 sq. m. will be dedicated to the museum. The rest of the space will be occupied by Innoverse - a 100% Government of Karnataka initiative under the Department of ITBT. Innoverse will serve as an incubator for
innovators and startups, propelling future innovation through a hub-and-spoke model. While it will operate as a separate entity from the Museum, its physical proximity will create opportunities for collaborative programming, allowing visitors to witness
innovation in action.
The larger NGEF site is being developed independently by the Government of Karnataka as a cultural hub, and once realized, MIST will form an integral part of this broader cultural ecosystem.
