About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Product Manager – Platform Development to lead the design, development, and launch of a digital platform from the ground up. This role requires someone who can translate business vision into a scalable product, drive the development roadmap, and manage execution in a lean startup environment.
The ideal candidate has previously built and launched digital platforms or products, understands both product and technology, and is comfortable managing distributed development teams including external vendors and freelance specialists.
This role requires strong ownership, structured thinking, and the ability to drive execution from concept to product launch.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Translate business objectives into a clear product vision and development roadmap
- Define platform features, workflows, and user journeys
- Prioritize product features based on business impact and user needs
- Continuously improve the product through user feedback and data insights
Platform Development
- Lead the development of a scalable web and mobile platform
- Define product architecture, feature specifications, and system requirements
- Work closely with developers and designers to ensure seamless product delivery
- Ensure platform reliability, security, and performance standards
Execution & Delivery
- Drive the complete product lifecycle including planning, development, testing, launch, and iteration
- Coordinate cross-functional workstreams to ensure timely delivery of product milestones
- Implement agile development processes and manage sprint cycles
Vendor & Freelancer Management
- Identify, onboard, and manage external technology vendors, agencies, and freelance developers
- Coordinate work across multiple contributors including designers, engineers, and technical specialists
- Ensure delivery timelines, quality standards, and accountability from external partners
Technology & Integration Oversight
- Work with development teams to define appropriate technology stack and architecture
- Manage integrations with third-party services and APIs where required
- Ensure the platform is built with scalability and long-term growth in mind
Requirements
Experience
- 7–12 years of experience in product development, platform development, or technology-driven roles
- Demonstrated experience building and launching digital platforms or products from scratch
- Experience working in startup or high-growth environments is strongly preferred
Technical Understanding
- Strong understanding of web and mobile product development processes
- Familiarity with modern software architecture, APIs, and cloud-based infrastructure
- Experience working with distributed or outsourced development teams
Product & Execution Skills
- Ability to translate business goals into clear product requirements
- Strong problem-solving and structured decision-making ability
- Experience managing product roadmaps and development timelines
Leadership & Collaboration
- Ability to work independently and take end-to-end ownership of product development
- Strong coordination skills to manage vendors, freelancers, and cross-functional teams
- Comfortable operating in fast-moving and evolving startup environments
