Key Responsibilities
- Design and build the Pre-Sales function from scratch.
- Allocate Pre-Sales capacity across Enterprise and Channel motions. Defend capacity allocation against pressure from either VP.
- Set the engagement model — ticket-based engagement, no informal requests, all work scoped and tracked.
- Define the deal-size threshold for Pre-Sales engagement (recommendation: deals above ₹50L). Review quarterly.
- Govern Proof of Concepts — POCs are expensive (40–80 engineer-hours each). Joint approval with the relevant GTM VP. Only for deals with commercial commitment.
- Lead technical solutioning for the largest deals — multi-Cr deals where the Head's personal involvement is warranted.
- Coordinate with Services & Support Head on the boundary between Pre-Sales work and L3 technical escalation work. Pre-Sales is not a tech escalation team.
- Build the technical playbook library — reference architectures, BOM templates, RFP response templates, POC frameworks.
- Run quarterly OEM technical briefings — HPE, Dell, ASUS, Cisco, NetApp, others — to keep the team current.
