Job Title: Head of Department (HOD) – Computer Science & Engineering (CSE)

Role Overview:
The Head of the Department (CSE) will provide academic leadership, strategic direction, and administrative oversight for the department. The role involves ensuring excellence in teaching, research, curriculum design, accreditation processes, and industry collaboration in line with autonomous institution standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Leadership:
- Lead curriculum planning and development in line with autonomous guidelines, All India Council for Technical Education and National Board of Accreditation norms
- Ensure effective delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate programs
- Promote innovative teaching methodologies and outcome-based education (OBE)
Administration & Governance:
- Manage departmental operations, faculty workload, and scheduling
- Conduct departmental meetings and ensure implementation of academic policies
- Prepare budgets, reports, and departmental plans
Faculty Development:
- Mentor and evaluate faculty members
- Encourage research, publications, patents, and funded projects
- Organize FDPs, workshops, and seminars
Research & Industry Collaboration:
- Promote research culture and consultancy projects
- Build partnerships with industry, startups, and research organizations
- Facilitate internships, placements, and industry-driven labs
Accreditation & Compliance:
- Lead accreditation processes (NBA, NAAC, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with University Grants Commission and other regulatory bodies
- Maintain academic records and documentation
Student Development:
- Monitor student performance, mentoring, and discipline
- Support co-curricular and extracurricular activities
- Address student grievances and ensure a conducive learning environment
Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualification and Experience as per AICTE norms
- Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering or related field (Mandatory)
- Minimum 12–15 years of teaching/research experience
- At least 3–5 years in a leadership role (HOD/Professor level preferred)
- Strong research profile with publications in reputed journals
- Experience in autonomous institutions will be an added advantage
