Role Purpose
Technology Center Pune (TCP) / Technical Project Steering (E0) / Head of Technical Project Information (E0/D)
Purpose of this position is to lead activities related to:
- Project Data/Information Management
- Management of complete technical data/information and associated activities in BOM (Bill of Material), MBT (Modell Beschreibung Technik), FAKOM (Farb + Kombinationstafel), CONNECT (Product Life Cycle Management) systems for IN Projects
- Management of complete technical data/information and associated activities in BOM, MBT, FAKOM, CONNECT systems for EU Projects
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Data/Information Management – IN Projects
End-to-end responsibility for all R&D system releases to build production cars and ensure project deliverables as per project milestones:
- Bill of Material (BOM), Data Management, CONNECT activities
- MBT and FAKOM (PR numbers, MBT rules, etc.) – Responsible for implementation
2. Project Data/Information Management – EU Projects
- Responsible for business needs of VW Group companies
- Ensure project deliverables as per project milestones
- Services in R&D system releases (BOM, Data Management, CONNECT, MBT, FAKOM)
3. Change Management
- Monitor and control MBT, FAKOM, BOM AVON post box responses at different project stages (Status 90, 496)
4. Plant Coordination
- Ensure flawless communication with plant functions (G, E, P, B, etc.)
- Represent system release status in top management forums
5. HQ Alignment
- Coordinate and establish communication with HQ for project deliverables
6. Management Systems, Audits & GRC
- Drive ISO standards, group policies, processes, and risk management
- Lead audits, risk assessments, training, and sustainability initiatives
7. Strategy
- Define and drive E0/D strategy for IN & EU projects
- Lead strategic initiatives to maximize business potential
8. Team Management
- Task delegation, MBO target setting, performance evaluation
- Maintain team satisfaction (GEMS), resource planning, remuneration recommendations
9. Budget
- Control, monitor, and report project budgets
10. Compliance
- Ensure adherence to group processes and legislative requirements
11. Advisory Role
- Advise internal stakeholders, subsidiaries, and partner organizations
Decision-Making Authorities
- Evaluate and estimate costs for projects, IT systems, and tools
- Budget planning, monitoring, and control
- Capacity planning for all projects
- Approval of RASI for project scopes
- Represent E0/D in management forums for escalations
- Data provision and DMU collision analysis as per VW guidelines
- Define E0/D strategy for IN & EU projects
- Hiring, training, development, and succession planning decisions
- Ensure data security, management, and communication consistency
Detailed Functional Responsibilities
1. BOM, Data Management & CONNECT
- Lead BOM filling using VW systems: TI-Syncro, Konstrukteri, KVS, AVON
- Validate BOM via TIS-Check
- Ensure technical releases (P, B, BMG, K)
- Ensure CONNECT system readiness
- Monitor BOM postbox responses
- Ensure correctness of PDMs
2. MBT, FAKOM & KMDG
- Creation of PR numbers and MB Technik rules
- Farb-cockpit readiness and correctness
- Monitor MBT postbox responses
- Coordinate AADD keys, interior & combination codes
- Manage color combinations via Farb-cockpit
- Ensure TFR (Technische Farben Rules)
3. VW Group System Services
- Build and lead a competent team
- Plan and deploy personnel
- Budget planning and monitoring
- Manage roles/rights in CONNECT
- Monitor project progress (time, cost, quality)
- Implement RASI matrices and processes
- Ensure adherence to PEP guidelines
- Prepare data-driven leadership presentations
- Ensure compliance with technical specs, homologation, KPIs
4. Leadership
- Interface with cross-functional teams (E0, SETs, EXT, G1G, Logistics, Purchase, VW WOB EZHV)
- Define long-term vision and roadmap
- Drive cross-functional collaboration and business growth
- Build a high-performance and motivated team
5. Strategy
- Drive short-term and long-term E0/D strategies
- Use analytics for decision-making
- Drive innovation in engagement and service delivery
- Provide R&D systems training guidance

- Capacity planning and resource estimation

- Ensure adherence to ISO standards and internal processes
- Lead audits, risk assessments, and sustainability initiatives
