Role: Supply Chain Management Head
Location: Mumbai
Reporting To: Founder
About the RoleWe are looking for a highly capable and entrepreneurial Head of Supply Chain Management to build, lead, and scale the end-to-end supply chain function at The Health Factory. This is a mission-critical leadership role that will own the complete supply chain ecosystem across first mile, mid-mile, and last mile operations while ensuring speed, efficiency, service excellence, and cost optimization.
The role will oversee supply chain operations across multiple domestic locations while building scalable capabilities for future international expansion. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience from high-performing FMCG / Food organizations, along with hands-on exposure to building systems, teams, and processes in fast-growth or startup environments. This role requires a strategic thinker who can also execute with detail and urgency.
Key Responsibilities1. Strategic Leadership• Define and execute the end-to-end supply chain strategy across procurement, planning, inventory, warehousing, logistics, fulfillment, and vendor management.
• Align supply chain operations with business goals, growth plans, seasonal peaks, and service expectations.
• Own supply chain cost efficiency and productivity metrics while driving continuous optimization.
• Build scalable frameworks and operating models to support domestic growth and future international expansion.
• Ensure seamless coordination across first mile, mid-mile, and last mile operations.
2. Demand & Supply Planning• Lead demand forecasting and supply planning processes to ensure high product availability with optimal inventory levels.
• Partner with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Production, and Operations teams to align supply plans with business demand.
• Improve forecast accuracy and reduce stock-outs, overstocking, wastage, and working capital inefficiencies.
• Implement robust buffer stock and safety stock strategies to mitigate supply risks.
3. Procurement & Vendor Management• Lead sourcing strategy, supplier negotiations, and vendor relationship management.
• Ensure vendor performance across quality, compliance, timeliness, and commercial efficiency.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new domestic and international suppliers as required.
• Build resilient vendor ecosystems and reduce concentration risk across the supply base.
4. Logistics & Distribution• Oversee warehousing operations, city hubs, transportation networks, and nationwide distribution.
• Drive logistics planning, route optimization, partner performance, and SLA adherence.
• Build reliable delivery systems that ensure speed, freshness, and service quality.
• Support export-import readiness and future global inventory movement with cost and compliance discipline.
5. Warehouse & Inventory Excellence• Oversee inventory accuracy, stock rotation, replenishment systems, and real-time inventory visibility.
• Drive warehouse productivity, process discipline, and operating standards.
• Ensure strong inventory controls to minimize losses, expiry, shrinkage, and inefficiencies.
• Balance stock availability with working capital optimization.
6. Systems & Process Excellence- Champion technology-led supply chain transformation through best-in-class systems and tools such as:
- Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Order Management Systems (OMS)
- Inventory Management Systems
- Planning & Analytics Tools
- Design and implement SOPs, dashboards, controls, and governance mechanisms.
- Introduce automation, lean practices, and standardized operating processes.
- Use data and metrics to drive continuous improvement across service, cost, agility, and efficiency.
7. Risk Management & Compliance• Identify operational and supply risks and implement contingency plans.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, labor, legal, and environmental regulations.
• Maintain strong governance standards across vendors, warehouses, and logistics operations.
• Build future-ready cold chain capabilities aligned to business growth plans.
8. Team Building & Leadership• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing supply chain team from the ground up.
• Manage and mentor Operations Managers, planners, procurement teams, warehouse teams, and storekeepers.
• Set clear KRAs, KPIs, and accountability mechanisms across functions.
• Create a culture of ownership, agility, collaboration, and operational excellence.
9. International Expansion Readiness• Build supply chain frameworks for future international market entry.
• Prepare systems and processes for import regulations, labeling, shelf-life, and documentation standards.
• Evaluate landed cost optimization and regional sourcing opportunities.
• Establish scalable processes that can support cross-border growth when required.
Desired Candidate ProfileExperience• 12–15+ years of relevant experience in Supply Chain Management, especially leadership roles.
• Strong experience in FMCG, preferably Food & Beverage / Perishables.
• Mandatory experience in cold chain operations.
• Experience in fast-moving D2C / consumer brands preferred.
• Exposure to both:
• Well-established organizations with mature best practices
