Job details:
The mandate
We are appointing a Chief of Strategic Finance to own capital strategy for the group.
The first deliverable is closing our seed round. The mandate that follows is larger: building the financial architecture, global investor base, and governance to carry multiple group entities through Series A and beyond, in a category where regulatory timelines set the pace and capital requirements scale with them.
This is a genuinely three-market role. You will raise across UK and European institutional venture, Indian domestic and diaspora capital, and Gulf capital including sovereign funds, family offices, and the climate and energy transition mandates now active across the region. Each market prices, structures, and diligences differently. You will need to work all three.
You will join a small leadership team, work directly with the founders, and represent the company to investors and the board. There is no finance function beneath you today. You will build it.
What you will own
Capital. End-to-end execution of funding rounds across group entities: narrative, model, investor targeting, process, diligence, and negotiation. Instrument choice, valuation, dilution, and cap table strategy. Cross-border structuring across UK, India, and UAE entities, including the jurisdictional question of where each round is raised and why. Non-dilutive capital, including climate and innovation grants, blended finance, and strategic corporate sources.
Global investor relations. Relationships with current and prospective investors across climate, impact, deep-tech, and strategic capital in the UK, Europe, India, and the Gulf. Board packs, reporting cadence, KPI definitions, and the data room. You are the financial voice of the company externally, and the person who turns a technical regulatory product into an investment case that lands in each of these markets.
Financial strategy. The group operating model, unit economics, and runway. Budgets, forecasts, and variance across entities and currencies. The financial view on pricing, contract structure, hiring, and market entry, including the economics of a delivery mix that spans multi-tenant platform and on-premise enterprise deployment.
Governance. Controls, policies, and reporting discipline appropriate to a multi-jurisdiction group. Statutory compliance, audit, transfer pricing, and cross-border flows with advisors in the UK, India, and the UAE. Infrastructure that scales without adding headcount.
First 12 months
Seed closed. A group model that survives institutional diligence. An investor reporting rhythm the next lead investor finds already running. Budgeting and forecasting operating across all entities.
Who we're looking for
We are looking for a finance leader with at least ten years of experience across corporate finance, investment banking, venture capital, private equity, or startup finance leadership. You have personally led institutional funding rounds to close, rather than supported others in doing so, and you can speak precisely to what you owned in each. You have raised capital in at least two of our three markets — the United Kingdom or Europe, India, and the United Arab Emirates or the wider Gulf — and you bring active investor relationships that can be engaged from day one.
You build financial models from first principles rather than adapting templates, and you can construct and defend an investment narrative under scrutiny from investors actively looking for its weaknesses. Critically, you are comfortable operating in an environment without established systems, processes, or a team in place. You will be building that foundation, not inheriting it.
Additionally Valued
- Experience with UK, India, and UAE entity structures and cross-border capital flows, including ADGM or DIFC frameworks
- Sector exposure to sustainability, climate technology, energy, automotive, or regulated compliance software
- Familiarity with climate and impact investor expectations, including ESG diligence requirements
- Established access to Gulf sovereign wealth and family office capital
- Working knowledge of carbon markets and environmental commodity economics
- A professional qualification such as CFA, CA, or CPA
What we offer
- A competitive remuneration package, aligned with experience and contribution
- A meaningful ESOP and equity opportunity
- Flexibility and autonomy to lead the financial and growth agenda
- Direct access to the founding team and real influence over the company's long-term direction
- Global exposure and regular travel across our three markets
