This opportunity is with our client based out in Bangalore for the role of Head of Sourcing
Head of Sourcing ( Category expansion - consumer products)
Work from Office- 5 days- Bangalore

Job Description:
- 6–12 years of sourcing experience in consumer products — home, lifestyle, kitchen, kids, fashion accessories, stationery, or adjacent categories. You've personally sourced from Chinese and Indian factories. You know what 1688 vs Alibaba vs Canton Fair is actually useful for.
- Category expansion sourcing: Lead sourcing for every new category we enter — bags, bottles, stationery, lunchware, sleep, travel, and beyond. From white paper to first shipment.
- Global supplier network
- You have walked factory floors. You can tell a good supplier from a bad one in 30 minutes.
- You are a hustler. You chase, you push, you close.
- You negotiate hard but fair. Factories want to work with you twice.
- You are structured. You run cost sheets, landed-cost models, critical path trackers, and PO pipelines. Excel is a first language.
- Travel. Factory visits. Canton Fair. Trade shows.
- Commercials and unit economics: Negotiate landed cost, MOQs, payment terms, tooling amortization, and capex-sharing arrangements
- Quality and compliance: Own pre-production samples, golden samples, inline inspection, and pre-shipment QC. Partner with our Consumer Lab to ensure every product meets our safety, durability, and child-use standards.
- Team building: Hire and lead a team of sourcing managers, merchandisers, and QC specialists across Bangalore and on-ground presence in key sourcing hubs. Build the playbook, the tooling, and the culture
- Cross-functional partnership: Work hand-in-glove with Design, Product, Brand, Supply Chain, and Finance
Added advantage
- Working knowledge of Mandarin, or a strong network of trusted agents/translators in China.
- Experience with product safety standards relevant to kids' products (BIS, EN-71, ASTM F963, CPSIA, food-grade materials, BPA-free testing).
- Prior experience launching a brand-new category from zero — building supplier base, tooling, first production run, and scaling to ₹10Cr+ ARR in that category.
- Exposure to D2C unit economics: how GST ITC, RTOs, marketplace fees, and logistics change what "good sourcing" actually means.
- Technical literacy — comfortable with ERP, PLM, or sourcing tools; not intimidated by data, dashboards, or AI-assisted workflows.
