Role Description The Head of Security is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of security for the hotel and its premises. This role involves designing, implementing, and updating security policies and procedures to protect guests, team members, assets, and information. The Head of Security will lead and schedule the security team, conduct regular patrols and inspections, and coordinate the use and maintenance of surveillance systems, access controls, and other security technologies. Daily responsibilities include risk assessments, incident response, investigation of security breaches, coordination with local law enforcement and emergency services, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and internal standards. The role also includes conducting security training and drills, supporting business continuity and emergency preparedness plans, and collaborating with hotel leadership to align security initiatives with operational and guest service objectives.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Physical Security, including facility protection, access control, surveillance systems, and on-site incident management.
- Knowledge of Network Security and Information Security to safeguard hotel systems, guest data, and operational technologies.
- Experience in Cybersecurity practices, including threat assessment, vulnerability management, and coordination with IT teams on security controls.
- Competence in Business Continuity planning, emergency response, and crisis management within a hospitality or similar environment.
- Proven leadership experience managing security teams, vendors, and security operations in medium to large facilities.
- Familiarity with local laws, regulations, and compliance standards related to safety, security, and data protection.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to respond calmly and effectively under pressure.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills to brief senior management and coordinate with external agencies.
- Relevant professional certifications or training in security management, safety, or risk management are preferred.
- Background in hospitality, facilities management, law enforcement, military, or corporate security is an advantage.
