Role Overview
We are looking for a builder, not a maintainer.
As Head of Sales / VP – Sales, you will own end-to-end revenue growth across D2C,
marketplaces, modern trade, and emerging offline expansion. You will work closely with
founders to design scalable revenue engines, build distribution networks from scratch, and
create repeatable playbooks.
This is a hands-on, execution-heavy role suited for someone who has scaled a consumer
startup from ₹10–50 Cr to ₹100+ Cr (or equivalent growth stage).
Key Responsibilities
1. Revenue Ownership
● Own overall revenue targets and growth strategy
● Build a multi-channel sales roadmap (D2C + Marketplaces + Offline)
● Drive monthly and quarterly revenue acceleration
2. D2C & Marketplace Expansion
● Optimize marketplace growth across platforms like:
○ Amazon
○ Flipkart
○ Nykaa
● Improve conversion, visibility, and promotions ROI
● Collaborate with performance marketing to align CAC and LTV targets
3. Offline GTM Strategy (Zero-to-One Build)
● Build distributor & super-stockist network
● Pilot offline expansion in key metros
● Design trade schemes and retail visibility strategy
● Expand into modern trade chains and premium retail
4. Sales Team & Systems
● Hire and build regional sales managers
● Implement CRM and sales reporting systems
● Create performance-linked incentive structures
● Establish sales SOPs and dashboards
5. Strategic Partnerships
● Drive B2B/institutional partnerships
● Explore salon/dermatology/beauty clinic channel (if relevant)
● Identify export opportunities
6. Unit Economics & Profitability
● Manage trade spends and margins
● Optimize channel mix for contribution margin
● Align supply chain with demand forecasting
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience
● 10–18 years of experience in FMCG/Beauty/Personal Care
● 3–5 years in a high-growth startup environment
● Proven track record of scaling emerging brands such as:
○ Mamaearth
○ The Derma Co.
○ Minimalist
○ Sugar Cosmetics
Mindset
● Entrepreneurial and comfortable with ambiguity
● Data-driven but execution-focused
● Strong negotiator with distributor & marketplace teams
● Willing to be in-market 10–15 days/month

● Strong offline footprint in top 20 cities
● Optimized D2C & marketplace profitability
