Mission of the Role
To architect and execute the commercial strategy that scales TechTap’s monthly revenue by 10x. The SMH will bridge the gap between high-volume General Trade (Saavi) and premium institutional/retail placement (Orvos), while growing and managing a team of 10+ members.
Key Responsibilities
A. Sales Leadership & Distribution Strategy
- Target Achievement: Own the monthly targets and growth targets for both brands
- Network Expansion: Identify and onboard "Super Stockists" and premium A-class dealers for the brand.
- Beat & Route Planning: Professionalize the existing sales team by implementing mandatory route plans and daily performance tracking via CRM or other tech tools.
- Project Pipeline: Oversee the Project Specialist to ensure a healthy pipeline of hotel and builder contracts, providing support on high-value closings.
B. Trade Marketing & Brand Positioning
- Trade Schemes: Design and implement "Push" schemes (e.g., quantity-based discounts, Cash Discounts/CD) that motivate dealers without eroding brand equity.
- Visual Merchandising: Oversee the installation of display units and signage in premium showrooms to ensure high "shelf-share."
- Collateral Development: Work with the design freelancer to create high-impact B2B catalogs, project pitch decks, and price lists tailored for different channels (Retail vs. Institutional).
C. Credit Control & Financial Rigor
- DSO Management: In coordination with Finance, ensure that the average Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) remains under 30–35 days.
- Gatekeeping: Enforce the "No Payment = No Dispatch" rule, ensuring sales reps prioritize collections as much as new orders.
D. Tech First
- ERP and CRM utilization: Use or advise new CRM tools and make sure the teams adhere to using them.
- Marketing Automation: Use Whatsapp Automation (Interakt etc) and make sure that the team has a system to follow up by running campaigns etc.
Required Qualifications & Calibre
- Experience: More than 8 years in Sales and Distribution, ideally within FMCG, Consumer Durables, or the Building Materials/Bath-fitting industry (e.g., Jaquar, Hindware, Cera or similar background).
- Education: MBA in Sales/Marketing is preferred but not mandatory if the candidate has a proven track record of being part of scaling of a regional brand.
- Leadership: Must have managed a team of at least 5 members. Experience in transitioning a team from manual/WhatsApp reporting to a CRM-based system is a major plus.
- Communication: Strong negotiation skills and the ability to switch between "mass-market" talk (with dealers) and "premium consulting" (for architects/builders).
Compensation & Incentives
Base Salary + Performance Incentive, weighted heavily on:
- Achievement of Net Revenue Targets.
- Collection Efficiency (Zero bad debts).
- Successful launch of brands in number of premium counters.
