Role Overview
The Head of Sales & Business will lead revenue generation, strategic partnerships and client acquisition for the organisation. The role owns the full business pipeline — from market positioning and lead generation to contract closure and account expansion — while working closely with client servicing, production and creative teams to convert opportunities into long-term partnerships.
This position requires a commercial leader who understands the MICE ecosystem, corporate procurement cycles, tendering processes and experiential marketing economics.
Key Responsibilities
1. Revenue & Growth Strategy
- Define and execute annual and quarterly sales strategy aligned with company revenue targets
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline across corporate, agency and government sectors
- Identify new markets (international incentives, destination events, brand activations)
- Develop pricing frameworks, margin strategy and commercial policies
2. Business Development & Acquisition
- Lead pitching and closure of high-value accounts and multi-year contracts
- Drive RFP/RFQ/tender responses and presentation strategy
- Establish relationships with decision-makers (CMOs, HR Heads, Procurement, Marketing Leaders)
- Expand business in conferences, incentives, exhibitions and experiential campaigns
3. Key Account & Partnership Management
- Act as executive sponsor for strategic accounts
- Negotiate commercial agreements, retainer contracts and annual mandates
- Develop long-term client growth plans and revenue expansion strategies
- Build partnerships with venues, tourism boards, airlines, hotels and global DMCs
4. Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor the sales and client servicing teams
- Set KPIs, conversion targets and performance metrics
- Align internal departments (creative, production, operations) with commercial objectives
- Develop sales capability, pitching standards and training frameworks
5. Market Intelligence & Positioning
- Monitor competitor positioning and industry trends
- Build go-to-market strategies for new service offerings
- Represent the company at industry forums, trade shows and networking platforms
- Strengthen brand presence in corporate and government event ecosystems
6. Financial Accountability
- Own revenue targets and profitability margins
- Forecast monthly and quarterly revenue projections
- Review cost structures and optimise deal profitability
- Ensure commercial compliance and contract governance
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Events or related discipline
- 8–12+ years experience in business development / sales leadership in Events, Experiential Marketing or MICE industry
- Proven record of closing large enterprise or multi-city event contracts
- Strong exposure to corporate procurement and tendering processes
- Experience handling ₹25 Cr+ annual revenue portfolio (or equivalent)
