India is a rapidly expanding strategic market for IES, driven by major infrastructure growth, data centre expansion, regulatory pressure and rising demand for high-performance buildings.
The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Head of Sales to lead and shape IES’ India business, with responsibility for defining and executing the go-to-market strategy across the region.
This is a senior, high-impact leadership role reporting directly to Chief Commercial Officer, and will play a critical role in establishing IES’ long-term presence and growth trajectory in India. The role combines strategic market leadership with hands-on commercial execution and team development.
You will be responsible for setting the direction for India, building the right market focus, defining priority sectors, and ensuring IES is positioned as a trusted partner across the built environment and data centre ecosystems.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the India commercial division, setting clear strategic direction and acting as the senior commercial authority for the region
- Report directly to Chief Commercial Officer, working closely with global leadership to shape and deliver India’s growth strategy
- Create and own India’s go-to-market strategy, aligned to where IES is today and where we can expand over the next 1, 3 and 5 years
- Define priority sectors and growth opportunities, with a strong focus on the built environment and data centre markets
- Position IES’ solutions through sector-specific GTM approaches that support scalable, long-term growth
- Drive sales execution, forecasting and pipeline management across the region
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships with developers, consultants, engineering firms, sustainability leaders and data centre operators
- Recruit, develop and lead the India sales and customer success teams, building a high-performing, scalable commercial organisation
- Strengthen customer retention and expansion, with a strong emphasis on long-term account growth and Gross Revenue Retention (GRR)
- Lead market expansion across Tier 1 and Tier 2 Indian cities
- Develop and scale channel, reseller and strategic partner relationships
- Act as a key voice into global leadership, providing market insight, competitive intelligence and growth recommendations for India
Skills & Experience
- 10+ years’ experience in senior commercial or regional leadership roles within India
- Strong background in SaaS, AEC, engineering solutions, sustainability technology or consultative technical sales
- Demonstrated success scaling commercial teams and operations in India
- Proven ownership of revenue targets and regional commercial performance
- Strong senior-stakeholder engagement skills (CXO, developers, consultants, data centre operators)
- Experience leading distributed or remote teams
- Highly analytical, commercial and metrics-driven
Nice to have
- Data centre sector experience (hyperscale, colocation, engineering consultancies supporting DC builds, energy-efficiency tools)
- Experience selling high-value SaaS, simulation or modelling tools
- Knowledge of building performance simulation, decarbonisation or compliance-driven solutions
