Role Description The Head of Quality Control is a full-time, on-site role based in Delhi, India. This position leads the quality control team, establishes and maintains quality standards, and ensures all steel automotive products meet regulatory and customer requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and overseeing inspections, supervising testing procedures, reviewing quality data, and resolving non-conformities with production and engineering teams. The role involves developing and updating quality management systems, coordinating internal and external audits, and implementing corrective and preventive actions. The Head of Quality Control also mentors team members, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and reports key quality metrics to senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Strong Quality Control and Quality Assurance skills, with experience in establishing and enforcing inspection and testing procedures.
- Proficiency in Quality Management, including developing and maintaining QMS, ISO or similar standards, and audit readiness.
- Solid Analytical Skills for interpreting test results, analyzing defects, and using data to drive process improvements.
- Relevant Laboratory Skills for overseeing material tests, equipment calibration, and safe laboratory practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Significant experience in quality roles within automotive or steel manufacturing environments, including leadership responsibility.
- Knowledge of automotive industry standards and regulatory requirements; familiarity with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and SPC is an advantage.
- Strong communication, team leadership, and stakeholder management abilities, with a focus on collaboration and problem solving.
- Proficiency with quality and production management tools, and comfort working with ERP or MES systems.
