1. Role Purpose
Ensure only conforming product moves through AMSOL and reaches customers by maintaining inspection systems, quality gates, containment, complaint handling, and corrective-action discipline.
2. Job Summary
The Quality Assurance Head owns product-conformity assurance across incoming, in-process, and final stages. The role has independent authority to hold product, stop dispatch, and escalate quality risk.
3. Scope of Responsibility / Process Ownership
• Own inspection controls, product release discipline, and nonconforming-product control.
• Drive customer complaint handling, 8D, and CAPA effectiveness.
• Support process controls, audits, and quality-related customer requirements.
• Ensure measurement / inspection readiness and product-quality data visibility.
4. Key Responsibilities (KRAs)
• Maintain robust inspection plans, acceptance criteria, and reporting discipline.
• Hold, segregate, and disposition nonconforming products effectively.
• Drive root-cause analysis and close corrective actions with effectiveness.
• Support launch / NPD quality planning and process-control verification.
• Provide quality performance review to management and operations.
5. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Customer complaints: zero major / improving trend.
• Rejection / rework rate: ≤ 2%.
• CAPA closure on time: ≥ 95%.
• Dispatch without quality approval: zero.
• Quality escapes / repeated same issue: minimal / zero.
6. Authority
• Stop shipment / hold dispatch for nonconforming product.
• Stop or contain production where quality risk is significant.
• Approve / reject lots as per defined criteria.
7. Accountability
• Product conformity and prevention of quality escapes.
• Quality-response discipline and effectiveness of corrective actions.
8. Qualification & Skills
• Diploma / BE in Mechanical preferred.
• Strong experience in inspection, customer complaints, and problem solving.
9. Competence Requirements
• Measurement systems, NC control, 8D/CAPA, customer quality communication.
10. Reporting Structure
• This role reports to: COO
• Direct reports / team interface: QA Supervisors
• Cross-functional interaction to be maintained with all relevant departments as per process requirement.
