Plant Head – Industrial Automation & Heavy Fabrication (Material Handling / ASRS Solutions)

About the Role
We are an established manufacturing organization with a ₹25 Crore turnover, specialized in fabricating high-quality industrial pallets, smart pallets, material handling trolleys, and ASRS cage solutions. Our state-of-the-art facility features in-house robotic welding, laser cutting, CNC press brakes, powder coating, and shot blasting.
We are seeking a sharp, aggressive, and deeply hands-on Plant Head to take complete ownership of our Pune manufacturing facility.
This is NOT a cabin job. We are looking for a dirt-under-the-fingernails execution leader who spends 80% of their day on the shop floor, driving daily dispatches, managing a 40-member team, and optimizing plant throughput.
Key Responsibilities:
- Throughput & Production: Ensure consistent daily line-balancing to smoothly hit and maintain our target of 3 Tons/Day of completed, high-quality steel pallets and trolleys.
- Asset Activation (Automation): Take direct ownership of bringing our in-house robotic welding arm online, programming fixtures, and integrating it with our manual welding stations to maximize capacity.
- Bottleneck Management: Actively monitor and balance the flow of materials from Laser Cutting and Bending through our 14 manual welding stations to the Shot Blasting and Paint Booth lines.
- Daily Discipline: Lead the mandatory 9:00 AM shop floor huddle. Implement a strict Daily Target Tracker (DTT) to report hourly output, material consumption (paint, turpentine oil, steel), and SCM alignment directly to the Managing Director.
- Team Leadership: Retain, mentor, and tightly manage a team of 40 members, including production supervisors, QC teams, operators, and dispatch in-charges.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Experience: 8 to 15+ years of core manufacturing experience in heavy steel fabrication, sheet metal, CKD packaging, or material handling Trolley industries.
- Technical Skills: Deep familiarity with CO2/MIG welding standards, laser cutting nesting, press brake operation, and powder coating micron thickness/curing controls.
- Automation Experience: Direct, hands-on experience in setting up, fixturing, or programming robotic welding lines is highly preferred.
- Leadership Style: Aggressive, micro-execution focused, and data-driven. Must be able to shut down verbal excuses with live shop floor data.
- Language: Fluency in Marathi and English to smoothly manage both shop floor operators and corporate stakeholders.
- Location Preference: Candidates residing in or willing to commute easily to Chakan, Waki, Bhosari, or Pimpri-Chinchwad.
