Role Description
GRD Bodybuilders is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with a specialized background in bus body or automotive manufacturing to lead our production division. This role demands a strategic leader to manage end-to-end shop floor operations—from structural fabrication to final trim and electrical integration—with a relentless focus on Lean Manufacturing and Quality Assurance.
Core Responsibilities
- Production Orchestration: Oversee total assembly line operations across Structure, Paint, Trim, and Electrical shops to ensure seamless delivery of luxury coaches.
- Process Engineering: Develop and implement rigorous Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); manage design and utilization of jigs, fixtures, and specialized tooling.
- Quality & Compliance: Direct station-wise quality audits and ensure full compliance with PPAP and safety standards.
- Operational Efficiency: Identify and resolve assembly line bottlenecks and shortages; drive cost optimization through lean methodologies and waste reduction.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a multi-tier workforce, including Assistant Managers, Supervisors, and shop floor technicians.
Candidate Profile
- Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience: 5–15 years in automotive body building, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on expertise in tooling, assembly line logistics, and process improvement frameworks.
- Leadership: Proven ability to run a disciplined, high-output manufacturing environment.
