Role Overview
We are seeking a visionary Head of Product Quality to redefine how our SaaS platform ensures excellence. Unlike traditional QA roles housed within Engineering, this position sits within the Product organization. You will be responsible for the end-to-end integrity of our user experience, ensuring that every feature we ship not only works technically but also drives Product-Market Fit (PMF) and solves real customer problems.
The ideal candidate for this role has a unique career trajectory: you likely started your career in the technical trenches of Quality Assurance, transitioned into Product Management to own the "why" behind the "what," and are now looking to combine these worlds in a senior leadership capacity. You will unify our distributed QA resources—including embedded squad engineers and our global "System QA" team—into a cohesive Quality Center of Excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Governance
- Consolidate and lead a multi-disciplinary QA organization, overseeing both embedded engineers and centralized systems teams.
- Establish a "Quality First" culture that moves beyond bug-catching to proactive product excellence.
- Collaborate with the Head of Product and Head of Engineering to align quality standards with business velocity.
2. Product-Market Fit (PMF) & UX Integrity
- Design and execute verification strategies to ensure new features align with PMF goals before and after launch.
- Act as a final gatekeeper for "Product Feel," ensuring UX/UI consistency and workflow efficiency.
- Use data-driven insights (NPS, churn data, feature adoption) to prioritize quality improvements that impact the bottom line.
3. AI Product Testing & Validation
- Develop frameworks for testing AI/ML-driven features, focusing on model accuracy, hallucination management, and bias detection.
- Implement automated testing for non-deterministic AI outputs to ensure consistent user value.
- Stay ahead of the curve on emerging tools for LLM monitoring and AI quality assurance.
4. Technical Excellence
- Oversee the evolution of our automation suite within our CI/CD pipelines.
- Balance manual exploratory testing with high-coverage automation to maintain a high release cadence.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Career Path: Proven transition from a technical QA background into a Product Management role. You are now seeking to leverage both backgrounds in a broad management position.
- Leadership: 8+ years of total experience, with a focus on leading QA or Product teams in a high-growth SaaS environment.
- AI Expertise: Proven track record of testing and shipping AI-powered products including experience with AI agent testing, safety protocols (bias/hallucination), and model observability; familiarity with model evaluation metrics.
- Product Mindset: Direct experience in product discovery, user research, and PMF verification.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of modern web architectures, API testing, and automated testing frameworks.
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Product Management, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience.
