Our client is a leading Education Group. The Procurement Lead will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies for construction projects, ensuring the timely availability of materials, equipment, and services at the most competitive costs while maintaining quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing & Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy that aligns with project timelines, budget constraints, and quality standards. Identify and evaluate new market opportunities, innovative materials, and efficient sourcing methods.
- Contract Negotiation & Management: Lead all major contract negotiations with vendors, suppliers, contractors, and consultants. Ensure favourable terms, conditions, and pricing. Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, from drafting and review to execution and closeout.
- Vendor & Supplier Relationship Management: Establish and maintain a strong, vetted network of suppliers and partners. Conduct performance evaluations and manage relationships to ensure reliability, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Financial & Risk Management: Monitor and control project procurement budgets. Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and legal risks related to contracts and supply chain activities.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage the procurement team. Foster a high-performance culture focused on collaboration, professional development, and integrity.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure strict adherence to company procurement policies, legal requirements, and industry standards. Develop and implement robust governance processes to maintain transparency and accountability.
- Requirements:
- 15–20 years of experience in procurement within the construction/real estate/infrastructure sector.
- In-depth knowledge of contract law, commercial terms, and legal documents.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, contracts, and supply chain practices.
