Head of Partnerships (Lending & Collections)
Credfix (Accio Finserv Private Limited) · Bengaluru · Full-time · On-site
About Credfix
Credfix is an AI-first debt management and resolution platform for India's distressed borrowers. Millions of borrowers who have defaulted on personal loans, credit cards, and secured loans navigate recovery pressure, legal notices, and settlement negotiations with no one on their side. We're building that side — a product that helps borrowers understand where they stand, respond to what's coming at them, and resolve their debt on fair terms. We're a seed-funded team based in Bengaluru, building primarily for Tier 2/3 India on a WhatsApp-first model.
About the role
Debt resolution is a two-sided problem. Our users need settlements, restructuring, and fair closure — but those outcomes only happen when lenders and collectors engage with us. This role owns the supply side of our platform: building relationships with banks, NBFCs, fintech lenders, collections agencies, and ARCs so that borrower resolutions negotiated through Credfix are accepted, executed, and settled at scale.
Today, settlements in India happen through fragmented, relationship-driven, agent-level conversations. Your mandate is to replace that with institutional pipes: formal lender partnerships, standing settlement frameworks, and repeatable commercial arrangements — so a resolution that takes weeks of back-and-forth today takes days through Credfix.
Key responsibilities
- Build the lender network. Originate, negotiate, and close partnerships with banks, NBFCs, fintech lenders, and credit card issuers — starting with collections and recovery teams, and expanding to structured settlement programs on their written-off and delinquent books.
- Own collections-ecosystem relationships. Establish working arrangements with collections agencies, ARCs, and debt buyers, so borrower cases can be resolved regardless of where the debt currently sits.
- Design settlement frameworks. Move partners from case-by-case negotiation to standing frameworks — pre-agreed settlement bands by bucket/DPD, documentation standards, NOC and CIBIL-update SLAs, and escalation paths.
- Structure commercials. Define and negotiate the revenue and incentive model with each partner — success fees, recovery-linked pricing, or platform arrangements — and own partnership P&L.
- Build distribution partnerships. Develop referral and channel partnerships (DSAs, credit platforms, financial services distributors) that bring distressed borrowers to Credfix.
- Be the voice of the lender internally. Feed lender-side requirements into product — verification, reporting, compliance comfort, settlement workflows — and work closely with founders on how partnerships shape strategy and fundraising narrative.
- Build the function. Start hands-on as an individual contributor; hire and lead a partnerships team as the network scales.
Preferred profile
- 5+ years of experience in lending, collections, or debt servicing, with a meaningful portion in partnership, alliance, or institutional sales roles.
- A live network in collections and recovery. You know — and are known by — collections heads, recovery heads, and credit risk leaders at banks, NBFCs, and fintech lenders. This is the core asset for the role.
- Strong understanding of the recovery lifecycle and economics: DPD buckets, provisioning and write-off behavior, settlement waterfalls, agency commissions, ARC sales, and what makes a settlement attractive to a lender.
- Experience negotiating and closing institutional agreements — commercial terms, SLAs, data-sharing, and compliance requirements with regulated entities.
- Working knowledge of the regulatory context: RBI norms on settlements and write-offs, Fair Practices Code, digital lending guidelines, and credit bureau reporting mechanics.
- Deal-maker temperament with operator discipline: comfortable in a CXO room and equally comfortable building trackers, pipelines, and playbooks from scratch at a seed-stage company.
Nice to have: experience at a collections SaaS or debt marketplace platform; prior exposure to ARC transactions or portfolio sales; experience selling into or partnering with lender collections teams specifically (rather than lending/origination teams).
Why this role
- The partner network is the moat. Product can be replicated; a trusted settlement network across India's lenders cannot — you'll be building the hardest and most defensible part of the company.
- Founder-level visibility, full ownership of a core company pillar, and the equity upside of an early leadership hire.
- A market with tens of millions of stressed retail borrowers, and no institutional consumer-side resolution platform yet.
- Competitive compensation with meaningful ESOPs.
