Job Description:
The Head of Partnerships will lead the strategy, acquisition, and scaling of MODIFI’s partner ecosystem across key markets. This role is responsible for building high-impact relationships with financial institutions, trade intermediaries, platforms, and strategic enablers to drive deal origination, revenue growth, and market expansion.
The role operates at the intersection of business development, strategic alliances, and revenue generation within the global trade finance ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Partnership Strategy & Growth
- Define and execute a global partnerships strategy aligned with MODIFI’s commercial goals
- Identify high-value partnership opportunities across banks, NBFCs, fintechs, marketplaces, logistics players, and trade bodies
- Build a scalable partner ecosystem to drive consistent deal flow
2. Partner Acquisition & Relationship Management
- Source, onboard, and activate new partners across priority geographies
- Own senior stakeholder relationships (CXOs, business heads, partnership leads)
- Drive long-term engagement, retention, and revenue growth from partners
3. Revenue Ownership
- Build and manage a partnerships-driven pipeline contributing to overall revenue targets
- Collaborate with Sales and Global Accounts teams to convert partner-sourced leads into funded transactions
- Track and optimize partner performance across deal volume, quality, and conversion rates
4. Program Design & Enablement
- Design partnership programs, incentives, and commercial structures (e.g., revenue share, commissions)
- Develop partner enablement frameworks including training, playbooks, and co-marketing initiatives
- Ensure partners are equipped to position MODIFI’s offerings effectively
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, Risk, and Operations teams to streamline partner-led workflows
- Align partnership initiatives with product capabilities and market requirements
- Provide feedback loops from partners to internal teams for continuous improvement
6. Market Expansion & Strategic Initiatives
- Identify new markets and entry strategies via partnerships
- Lead strategic collaborations that unlock new customer segments(exporters, importers, global buyers)
- Represent MODIFI in industry forums, events, and partner networks
7. Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Define KPIs for partnerships (pipeline contribution, revenue, activation rates, partner ROI)
- Build dashboards and reporting frameworks for leadership visibility
- Continuously refine partnership strategy based on performance insights
Experience
- 7+ years in partnerships, business development, or strategic alliances
- Experience in fintech, trade finance, banking, or B2B SaaS is preferred
- Proven track record of building and scaling revenue-generating partnerships
Skills
- Strong commercial acumen with revenue ownership experience
- Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders
- Deep understanding of B2B sales cycles and partnership-led growth models
- Structured thinking with strong execution capabilities
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Preferred Background
- Exposure to global trade, supply chain, or financial services ecosystems
- Experience working across cross-border markets
- Familiarity with open account trade, receivables financing, or working capital solutions
