Job Description: Head of Manufacturing

About the Role: PKL Limited is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Head of Manufacturing to lead and optimize production activities across our Balanagar and Gandi Maisamma, Hyderabad manufacturing units.
As a core member of the leadership team, you will report directly to the Director and be responsible for driving production efficiency, technology integration, and stringent quality compliance in our LPG cylinder and appliance manufacturing lines.
The ideal candidate is a technical visionary with deep expertise in the sheet metal industry, modern CNC technologies, and multi-plant management.
Key Responsibilities:
Multi-Site Production & Strategy:
- Oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations across the Balanagar and Dundigal plants, ensuring production targets, yield rates, and delivery timelines are consistently met.
- Develop and execute strategic operational plans to scale production capacity, optimize resource allocation, and reduce operational bottlenecks between the two units.
- Drive daily operations meetings and provide leadership to plant managers, shift engineers, and the shop-floor workforce.
Technical & Process Leadership:
- Direct complex sheet metal fabrication processes, including deep drawing, punching, pressing, and forming.
- Manage and upgrade modern manufacturing technologies, including CNC machining centers, automated welding systems, and advanced brazing furnaces (managing reducing atmospheres and heat treatment).
- Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 5S methodologies to minimize wastage and enhance cost-efficiency.
Quality Assurance & Statutory Compliance:
- Act as the ultimate authority on maintaining ISO Quality Management Systems (QMS) across all production lines.
- Ensure strict adherence to critical industry standards required for LPG cylinders and pressure vessels, including BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) and PESO (Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation) guidelines.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with the Quality Assurance and HR departments to enforce industrial safety protocols, conduct annual workmen competency reviews, and maintain a zero-accident culture.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
- B.Tech / B.E. strictly in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, or Metallurgical Engineering from a recognized university.
- Additional management degrees or certifications in ISO, Lean Six Sigma and advanced manufacturing techniques are preferred.
Experience & Skills:
- Minimum of 10 years of core manufacturing experience, with experiance in Managerial or Plant Head capacity.
- Proven expertise in sheet metal forming, welding technologies, and CNC operations.
- Specific experience in the mass production of LPG cylinders and appliances, including managing specialized heat-treatment or brazing furnaces, is highly preferred.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse blue-collar workforce across two units.
- Deep understanding of ISO system, QMS implementation, and preventive maintenance scheduling.
