Role Overview
The Head of Operations will be responsible for building, scaling, and optimizing Astrafin’s end-to-end operational infrastructure. This includes managing asset lifecycle processes, vendor ecosystems, credit and underwriting workflows, customer onboarding, and post-deployment servicing.
This is a high-impact leadership role requiring a mix of execution, process design, and strategic thinking, especially suited for a fast-scaling fintech/startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations Strategy & Leadership
- Define and execute the company’s operations strategy aligned with growth goals
- Build scalable processes for leasing, asset deployment, and lifecycle management
- Drive operational excellence across all business units
2. Asset Lifecycle Management
- Oversee procurement, deployment, tracking, servicing, and disposal of leased assets
- Establish vendor partnerships and supply chain frameworks
- Ensure optimal asset utilization and cost efficiency
3. Credit & Risk Operations
- Design and manage credit evaluation, underwriting, and approval workflows
- Work closely with risk and finance teams to ensure portfolio quality
- Implement controls to minimize defaults and operational risk
4. Customer Operations
- Optimize onboarding, documentation, and KYC processes
- Improve customer experience across the lifecycle (onboarding → servicing → renewal)
- Set SLAs and ensure high service standards
5. Process & Technology Enablement
- Collaborate with product/tech teams to build scalable operational systems
- Drive automation across workflows (CRM, asset tracking, billing, collections)
- Leverage data analytics for continuous process improvement
6. Vendor & Partner Management
- Build and manage relationships with OEMs, distributors, logistics partners, and service providers
- Negotiate contracts and optimize vendor performance
7. Team Building & Leadership
- Hire, lead, and mentor the operations team across functions
- Establish KPIs and performance management systems
- Build a strong execution-driven culture
8. Compliance & Governance
- Ensure adherence to regulatory, financial, and internal compliance standards
- Implement audit-ready processes
Key Metrics (Success Indicators)
- Turnaround time (TAT) for deal processing & asset deployment
- Asset utilization & lifecycle efficiency
- Portfolio quality (default rates, recovery rates)
- Customer satisfaction (NPS / retention)
- Cost-to-serve and operational efficiency ratios
Qualifications & Experience
- 8–15+ years of experience in operations, preferably in:
- Fintech / NBFC / leasing / lending
- Asset financing / supply chain / DaaS / equipment leasing
- Proven experience in scaling operations in a startup or high-growth environment
- Strong understanding of credit processes, underwriting, and risk operations
- Experience managing cross-functional teams
