Role: Head of Operations & AdministrationLocation: Mumbai
Business: Kaveri – South Indian QSR
Reporting to: Founder
Role ObjectiveTo build and run end-to-end operations for Kaveri’s QSR format — ensuring consistent product quality, efficient store operations, strong unit economics, and scalable systems across outlets.
This role will own daily execution + backend control + scale readiness.
Key Responsibilities1. Store Operations & Execution- Set up and operationalise the first outlet (and subsequent outlets)
- Ensure consistency in preparation and service of:
- Thatte Idli
- Wada
- Benne Dosa
- Upma
- Filter Coffee & Tea
- Drive SOP creation and strict adherence (prep, cooking, service, hygiene)
- Manage daily store functioning: opening, closing, staffing, service flow
- Optimise turnaround time and customer throughput
2. Supply Chain & Inventory Control- Set up procurement systems for raw materials and consumables
- Vendor identification, negotiation, and relationship management
- Maintain inventory norms, reorder points, and wastage control
- Ensure standardisation of ingredients and quality consistency
3. Unit Economics & Cost Control- Monitor food cost, labour cost, and overheads
- Drive cost optimisation without compromising quality
- Build daily, weekly, and monthly reporting dashboards
- Ensure tight control over pilferage and leakages
4. Team Hiring & Management- Hire, train, and manage kitchen and service staff
- Build a disciplined, process-driven team culture
- Create training modules for:
- Food preparation
- Hygiene standards
- Customer service
- Handle rostering, attendance, and performance tracking
5. Administration & Compliance- Manage all licences and regulatory requirements (FSSAI, Shop & Establishment, Fire, etc.)
- Oversee vendor contracts, rentals, and facility management
- Ensure compliance with hygiene and safety standards
- Handle basic finance coordination with accountants
6. Systems & Process Building- Implement POS systems, inventory tools, and reporting structures
- Build scalable SOPs for multi-outlet expansion
- Document processes for replication across locations
7. Customer Experience- Ensure high standards of cleanliness, speed, and service
- Handle customer feedback and resolution loops
- Maintain brand consistency across touchpoints
Ideal Candidate Profile- 5–10 years of experience in QSR / F&B operations
- Has scaled or operated multiple outlets (preferred)
- Strong understanding of South Indian cuisine operations is a plus
- Highly process-oriented with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable with on-ground execution (this is not a desk role)
- Strong ownership mindset; able to work directly with founder
