Role Description
The Head of Production is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in IMT Manesar.
This role is responsible for leading the complete manufacturing function at Ozar Objects, from production readiness to final dispatch. The position oversees day-to-day factory operations, production planning, engineering coordination, CNC and machining efficiency, product quality, team performance, workflow improvement, and on-time delivery.
The role requires a hands-on manufacturing leader who can manage current production while also building stronger systems, clearer processes, better documentation, and a more accountable team.
Key responsibilities include managing production across machining, assembly, upholstery, finishing, quality control, packing, and dispatch; ensuring products are properly engineered before production; improving CNC workflows and cycle time; reducing defects, rework, waste, and delays; and ensuring that finished products meet approved design, comfort, construction, and finish standards.
The Head of Production will work closely with design, procurement, production, quality, order coordination, dispatch, and management teams to ensure that design intent, manufacturing capability, material availability, and delivery commitments remain aligned.
The role will also be responsible for defining team roles, setting targets, reviewing performance, improving workflows, and building repeatable manufacturing systems that reduce dependency on informal follow-ups or constant founder intervention.
This role carries ownership for production output, product quality, on-time delivery, engineering readiness, manufacturing documentation, CNC efficiency, team accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in manufacturing and operations management, preferably in furniture, solid wood, woodworking, CNC machining, or a related manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to manage end-to-end factory operations across multiple departments, including machining, assembly, finishing, QC, packing, and dispatch.
- Strong understanding of production planning, workflow management, capacity planning, order tracking, and shop-floor execution.
- Ability to review product designs for manufacturability, construction logic, strength, comfort, and production feasibility.
- Experience with BOMs, routing sheets, SOPs, job cards, drawings, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
- Practical knowledge of CNC machining, tooling, fixtures, jigs, nesting, setup methods, and cycle-time improvement.
- Strong quality mindset, with experience reducing defects, rework, delays, damage, and recurring production issues.
- Ability to define quality checkpoints and build accountability for quality across every stage of production.
- Experience leading teams, setting targets, reviewing performance, identifying skill gaps, and building shop-floor discipline.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with design, procurement, production, quality, dispatch, and management teams.
- Hands-on, practical, ownership-driven approach suited to a growing company where systems are still being built.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, Wood Technology, Production Management, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
