Job Description - Manufacturing Head
About the Company - Lal Sweets Pvt. Ltd. is a growing FMCG organization specializing in traditional sweets and food products, committed to delivering high-quality, hygienic, and consistent products to customers. We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Head to lead our production and quality operations.
Role Overview
The Manufacturing Head will be responsible for end-to-end manufacturing operations including production planning, process optimization, quality control, food safety compliance, cost management, and team leadership. The role requires strong exposure to FMCG food manufacturing with hands-on experience in both Manufacturing and Quality Control.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manufacturing & Operations
● Lead and manage complete manufacturing operations across the plant.
● Ensure smooth production as per demand planning while meeting cost, quality, and delivery targets.
● Develop and implement SOPs for production processes to improve efficiency and consistency.
● Optimize manpower, machinery, and raw material utilization.
● Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, TPM, etc.).
2. Quality Control & Food Safety
● Oversee Quality Control and Quality Assurance functions.
● Ensure compliance with FSSAI, GMP, GHP, HACCP, ISO standards.
● Monitor product quality at all stages raw material, in-process, and finished goods.
● Handle internal, external, customer, and regulatory audits.
● Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
3. Compliance & Documentation
● Ensure adherence to statutory, safety, and hygiene norms.
● Maintain production, quality, and compliance documentation.
● Coordinate with regulatory authorities when required.
4. People Management
● Lead, mentor, and develop production and QC teams.
● Build a strong performance-driven culture on the shop floor.
● Ensure discipline, safety, and employee engagement within the plant.
5. Cost & Process Optimization
● Control manufacturing costs and reduce wastage.
● Improve yield, shelf life, and productivity.
● Coordinate with Procurement, R&D, and Supply Chain teams. Required Qualifications & Experience
● Bachelor's degree in Food Technology / Dairy Technology / Chemical Engineering / Production Engineering or related field.
● Minimum 10+ years of experience in FMCG manufacturing.
● Experience in Food / Sweets / Bakery / Beverages / Dairy industries is mandatory.
● Strong hands-on experience in both Manufacturing Operations and Quality Control.
● Proven experience in handling audits and food safety standards. Key Skills & Competencies
