Job Title: Head of Legal & Liaisoning
Location: Bengaluru
Department: Legal & Compliance
Reports To: Managing Director / CEO
Role Overview
The Head of Legal & Liaisoning will be responsible for overseeing all legal, regulatory, and liaisoning
functions of the real estate organization. This role ensures compliance with applicable laws,
manages legal risks, facilitates approvals from government authorities, and supports business
operations through strategic legal guidance.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Management
Lead and manage all legal matters including litigation, contracts, compliance, and advisory.
Draft, review, and negotiate agreements such as land acquisition documents, joint
development agreements (JDAs), sale deeds, vendor contracts, and lease agreements.
Ensure compliance with real estate laws, including RERA, land laws, municipal regulations,
and corporate laws.
Manage and coordinate with external legal counsel and law firms.
Develop legal strategies to mitigate risks and protect company interests.
Liaisoning & Government Relations
Establish and maintain strong relationships with government authorities, regulatory bodies,
and local agencies.
Oversee the process of obtaining approvals, permits, licenses, and clearances for projects.
Handle land-related approvals, zoning, environmental clearances, and other statutory
requirements.
Act as the key point of contact between the company and government departments.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements across all projects.
Monitor changes in laws and regulations impacting the real estate sector.
Implement internal compliance frameworks and governance standards.
Conduct legal due diligence for land acquisition and project development.
Team Leadership
Build and lead a high-performing legal and liaisoning team.
Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on legal and compliance matters.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project, finance, and sales.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Law (LLB/LLM) from a recognized institution.
12–18 years of relevant experience, preferably in the real estate sector.
Strong expertise in property law, land acquisition, and regulatory approvals.
Proven experience in liaisoning with government bodies and authorities.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
