The group opened a new office in Hyderabad to increase its footprint in the South India. While the new office/ team forms part of the legacy of Ampersand Group, the weight of the legacy comes with responsibility to perform and scale rapidly.
The Hyderabad team is responsible for operating, optimizing and scaling the 6 Skill Development Centers (SDCs), currently spread across Maharashtra. With a strong feet on the ground team of 150+ team members, we have already helped 4,000+ rural youth start their careers across 40+ skilled trades. With an annual training capacity for 10,000+ students, and with a strong pipeline to double the capacity soon, we’re building a high energy, self driven team to fuel the next phase of growth. We up-skill rural youth (10th/12th pass, graduates) for entry role jobs in various industries to be Agriculture workers, EV/Solar electricians, CNC Operators, Commercial Chefs, AC Mechanics, Fitters, Welders, Manufacturing and Logistics workers, Tally Operators, Mobile Testers, AutoCAD designers and many more. Most courses are 2.5-5 months, with 80% hands-on training —think of a modern finishing schools creating real difference in these students’ lives.
Role Description
SDCs lie on one foundation: a strong pedagogy that shapes student learning through effective training and make them job ready by imparting skills via industry-aligned curriculum; and the Curriculum team is at the heart of this task.
Curriculum team is the one that makes us the best at what we do - Skiling the next generation workforce, by polishing the hidden gems into diamonds. This team is tasked with crucial tasks including:
Mapping job requirements to definite skills
Discover fastest sequence to build these skills
Identify and map student’s innate abilities to best-suited job role for training & placement success.
Understand where most students get stuck in their learning journey and unblock them
Re-engineer existing curriculum using the knowledge of pedagogy to suit different students
Understand the trainer’s lifecycle & journey to help him/her deliver effectively and efficiently
Assessing students continuously on their journey to attain skills
Roles & Responsibilities of L&D Team
The entire course content, teacher manuals, handbooks, workshop content, quizzes, self help guides, Q&As etc.
Customize content for both online and offline modes.
Ensure the course content meets required NSDC learning outcomes, along with industry/ job requirements.
Work closely with Industry experts to ensure the curriculum delivers required skills.
Guide the Trainers on ground in the delivery of content, conducting assessments etc.
Work closely with the Trainers in continuously improving the quality of training.
Support Trainers in preparing lesson plans, delivering content, quizzes, workshops etc.
Plan and guide industrial visits for the students
Conduct Teacher Training workshops, one-to-one feedback/ mentoring sessions, etc.
Undertake regular Audits to monitor and improve the quality of training.
Focus on all round skills of the students to make them interview and job ready.
Required Skills/ Expertise
Strong understanding of pedagogy, learning outcomes, industry skill requirements etc.
Experience of working with NSDC/ Skill Councils or as an Industry Trainer or a relevant work experience is mandatory.
High ownership, execution focus and ability to work in a fast-scaling startup environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex curriculum into simple, step-by-step instructions for the trainers on ground.
Ability to work with on-ground, semi-urban trainers.
Well versed with LMS and is comfortable to work with latest Ai based LMS applications.
Willingness to learn and grow as per the changing times and technology, and to continuously improve processes based on data and feedback.
Qualification and education requirements
For CLA role : 8-10 Years of experience in curriculum design and training is preferred.
Prior experience in Industrial design/ Education/ Teaching/ Skilling is a must.
Educational qualification or experience of studying and working in Pedagogy/ Curriculum/ Training material design is mandatory.
Proficiency in English/ Hindi/ Marathi is required.
