Job Title: Head IT- Financial Services/ NBFC/Banks/Retail/FMCG
Role Overview
We are looking for a business-aligned and transformation-oriented Head IT to lead the organization’s technology strategy, digital transformation agenda, and enterprise IT landscape.
The Head IT will play a pivotal role in enabling business growth through technology-led innovation, scalable digital platforms, customer-centric solutions, and modern IT architecture. The role will drive the technology roadmap for the organization, ensuring that IT capabilities directly support customer acquisition, retention, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and differentiated service delivery.
This position requires a leader who can combine strategic thinking with execution rigor, while partnering closely with business leaders across lending, operations, collections, risk, customer experience, and distribution.
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience from NBFCs, banks, fintechs, Retail companies or forward looking consumer goods company that are digitally evolving organizations in India.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Strategy & IT Roadmap
- Define and execute the enterprise-wide IT and digital strategy aligned with business growth objectives.
- Build a multi-year technology roadmap supporting scale, customer experience, operational resilience, and innovation.
- Partner with leadership teams to identify technology interventions that improve productivity, speed, and business outcomes.
- Drive modernization of legacy systems and transition toward agile, cloud-enabled, API-driven ecosystems.
- Digital Transformation
- Lead enterprise digital transformation initiatives across customer journeys, lending operations, servicing, collections, and partner ecosystems.
- Enable digital-first customer engagement models across mobile, web, CRM, and assisted channels.
- Drive automation initiatives leveraging AI/ML, analytics, workflow platforms, RPA, and intelligent decisioning.
- Introduce technology-led innovations to enhance service delivery and create competitive differentiation.
- Customer Platforms & Business Enablement
- Build and strengthen digital platforms for customer acquisition, onboarding, servicing, engagement, and retention.
- Drive technology capabilities supporting omnichannel customer experience and personalized engagement.
- Work closely with product, sales, and operations teams to improve customer lifecycle management and digital adoption.
- Ensure scalability and reliability of customer-facing platforms.
- Enterprise Applications & IT Operations
- Oversee core business applications including LOS, LMS, CRM, ERP, data platforms, analytics, and integrations.
- Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and security of enterprise systems and infrastructure.
- Lead cloud transformation, infrastructure modernization, and enterprise architecture initiatives.
- Establish strong IT governance, SLA management, and operational excellence frameworks.
- Data, Analytics & Innovation
- Champion data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- Build strong data governance, enterprise reporting, and analytics capabilities.
- Explore emerging technologies and fintech partnerships to improve speed, efficiency, and customer experience.
- Create a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the technology organization.
Cybersecurity, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure robust cybersecurity frameworks, information security controls, and disaster recovery mechanisms.
- Maintain compliance with regulators, data privacy standards, audit requirements, and enterprise risk frameworks.
- Strengthen technology risk management and business continuity planning.
- Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Build and lead high-performing technology and digital teams.
- Partner closely with business heads to align technology investments with business priorities.
- Manage strategic vendor relationships, technology partners, and system integrators.
- Present technology strategy and transformation progress to executive leadership and board stakeholder
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline; MBA preferred.
- 18+ years of experience in technology leadership roles, with significant exposure to financial services, NBFCs, banks, or fintech organizations.
- Proven experience leading large-scale digital transformation programs.
- Strong understanding of lending platforms, digital customer journeys, risk systems, collections technology, and regulatory environments within Indian financial services.
- Experience driving customer-facing digital platforms and technology-enabled growth initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture, cloud ecosystems, cybersecurity, data platforms, and emerging technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to align technology investments with business outcomes.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
