Job Description – Head of Technology
Role Overview
The Head of Technology is responsible for the Group's end-to-end technology strategy, development, and internal IT operations. The role oversees the design, development, and evolution of the YooPlatform ecosystem, including all platform modules and the super-app, while establishing technology standards, architecture, and engineering best practices.
In addition, the role is accountable for the Group's internal technology environment, including business systems, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, end-user support, and technology governance. The Head of Technology will work closely with business stakeholders to ensure technology investments support growth, operational efficiency, innovation, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technology Strategy & Leadership
- Define and execute the Group's technology vision, roadmap, and long-term architecture strategy.
- Align technology initiatives with business objectives, growth plans, and customer requirements.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to enhance products, operations, and competitive advantage.
- Lead technology governance, standards, policies, and best practices across the organization.
- Build and develop a high-performing technology team capable of scaling with business growth.
2. Product & Platform Development
- Lead the development and enhancement of the YooPlatform ecosystem and super-app.
- Define product architecture, technical standards, and engineering frameworks.
- Oversee software development lifecycle processes, including planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Drive platform scalability, reliability, performance, and security.
- Make strategic build-versus-buy and build-versus-integrate decisions to optimize technology investments.
- Collaborate with Product, Operations, and Commercial teams to translate business requirements into technology solutions.
3. Software Engineering & Architecture
- Establish software engineering best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance frameworks.
- Design and maintain scalable, secure, and resilient system architectures.
- Ensure proper integration between platform components, third-party systems, and external services.
- Oversee cloud infrastructure, APIs, microservices, and data architecture where applicable.
- Lead technical reviews and provide architectural guidance for all major technology initiatives.
4. Internal IT Operations
- Manage the Group's internal IT systems, applications, and technology infrastructure.
- Select, implement, and maintain enterprise business systems and productivity tools.
- Oversee end-user computing, helpdesk services, hardware, software, and network operations.
- Ensure business continuity, disaster recovery, and system availability.
- Drive automation and digital transformation initiatives across internal functions.
5. Information Security & Compliance
- Establish and maintain cybersecurity policies, controls, and monitoring processes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory, privacy, and data protection requirements.
- Manage technology risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability management activities.
- Promote security awareness and best practices throughout the organization.
6. Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with technology vendors, software providers, and external development partners.
- Negotiate contracts, licensing agreements, and service-level commitments.
- Work closely with executive leadership to prioritize technology investments and initiatives.
- Provide regular updates on technology performance, risks, budgets, and strategic projects.
7. Budget & Resource Management
- Develop and manage technology budgets, forecasts, and investment plans.
- Ensure effective utilization of technology resources and assets.
- Monitor project delivery, resource allocation, and operational costs.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and optimize technology spending.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Master's degree or relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
- Minimum 10–15 years of progressive experience in software engineering, technology leadership, and IT management.
- Proven experience building and scaling multi-product platforms, SaaS ecosystems, or super-app environments.
- Strong expertise in software architecture, cloud platforms, systems integration, and modern development practices.
- Experience managing internal IT operations, infrastructure, and enterprise applications.
- Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing technology teams.

Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related technology discipline.
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Technology Management, Business Administration (MBA), or a related field is preferred.
- Professional certifications are highly desirable, such as:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Google Professional Cloud Architect
- TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework)
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Agile-related certifications
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 10–15 years of progressive experience in software engineering, technology leadership, and IT management.
- At least 5 years in a senior technology leadership role (Head of Technology, Engineering Director, CTO, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in designing, building, and scaling multi-product platforms, SaaS solutions, digital ecosystems, or super-app environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing both software development teams and enterprise IT operations.
- Strong track record in cloud technologies, platform architecture, cybersecurity, systems integration, and digital transformation initiatives.
